Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) is an important application of quantum information. Using the miraculous properties of quantum mechanics QKD breaks thought the confines of classical encryption and can make our communications perfectly secure. In the past several years, there has been significant progress in QKD. Many QKD experiments have been successfully demonstrated in the free space and in the optical fiber. It is expected that there will be a global information system basing on QKD in the next decades. There are several classical processes in quantum key distribution to sift information and insure the security of keys. In this work, we review these processes first and then build a software that uses Internet as public channel to perform these post-processing. With this software we can carry out the post-processing in QKD and simulate the overall quantum encryption process. The post-processing procedures include sifting, estimation of error rate, reconciliation, confirmation and privacy amplification. We will discuss these processes and identify their advantages and disadvantages. The software implements all steps needed for quantum secret-key distribution. It can be used with the protocols of BB84 and B92. It also allows one to run quantum key distribution in a simulating mode without the need for any specialized hardware. The software will be improved to support the experiment setup. In the every procedure of post-processing, we have used deferent methods so as to find out a better one.
