The southwest LLSW phenomena can be categorized into two kinds, one with independent kernel construction and the other without such character. Among Chinese former statistical analysis, the two kinds are generally taken as LLJ. Drawing lessons from such methods that American scientists research the climatic features o f LLJ, combining C hinese w eather c haracteristics and c onsidering from vertical features of single station wind, we classified Chinese southwest LLSW, LLJ and low-level southwest strong wind without kernel in conception. Based on this, using continuous sonde data from January 1998 to December 2002, such strong wind phenomena of 89 sonde stations are classified and researched with focus on LLJ with kernel and LLSW without kernel. Results show that there are two activity centers of LLSW in southwest of China locating in South China and Northeast China respectively which are also the a ctivity c enters o f LLJ. T he former is featured by frequent appearance of LLJ and LLSW without kernel, two of which with large monthly distribution differences, contrary daily variety regulations and large environmental differences, while the latter is characterized by LLJ with lower monthly frequency differences and ambiguous daily changes. The monthly changes, daily variety regulations and survival environment differences of LLJ in Northeast China and South China are also large. It shows that Chinese low-level southwest strong wind includes several kinds with different construction forms, evolution regulations and survival environment. In this paper, we reveal climatic distribution rules of the above strong wind phenomena in detail and point out that it is very important and necessary to distinct and study them.
