Holographic storage, with its large storage capacity, high readout rate and capability of permitting parallel access to data, promises to become the next generation of potential mass storage medium. Although many progress have been made in this area, in order to contend with mature data storage technologies for the data storage market., there are still many problems need to be solved. So in this paper, we propose a method of optical variable devices storage. The photoresist is used as recording materials to take the master of embossing hologram, it has the advantage of easily replicate. Besides DCG is used because it is an transparent phase recording medium, the information can not be observed before development, so it can be used in the hidden information carry.In this paper, we research on the storage density of optical variable devices storage system, and we study characters of letter, image and coding storage by experiments, The experiment results are given and discussed. The experiment results show that in this system the smallest English letter can be stored is 60um, the resolution of stored OVD can achieve 12um, the storage density can be obtained 106bits/cnr. We also store several images on the same spot with reference beams of different directions (peristeophic multiplexing), when each hologram is separated by 15, the crosstalk noise decreases greatly, the storage density can be obtained 10 bits/cmFinally. Further improvements of the system are proposed.
