The imaging properties of holographic lens are investigated theoretically and experimentally in this paper. The main contents are as follows:Firstly, a method of using two off-axial holographic lenses to compose an on-axial holographic lens is presented in this paper. The holographic lens, which is designed according to Bragg condition to eliminate aberrations, has both high efficiency and low aberration, and can be used in a certain narrow-band condition. A example and its results are also given in this paper.Secondly, using compound on-axial holographic lens to design a diffractive/refractive hybrid object lens. The system has the advantage of light weight, simply structure and near diffraction limited imaging quality. Finally, the chromatic dispersive characteristics of holographic lens and refractive lens are compared, and the effective chromatic coefficient of holographic lens is given. The achromatic characteristics of holographic lens and refractive lens are studied preliminarily.
