The colorimetric method and morphology observation and production method are used to study ecological adaptability of Spirulina platensis (Arthrospira plate nsis)(the first discovery in China)which discovered in Erdos sandy areas lakes in this essay .The results of experiments for the Spirulina indicates that under the condition of 24℃, under continuous light for 7days, the light compensation point of the Spirulins is about 0.58μmol/m2·s, its saturation point is 82.1 μ mol/m2·s , its light stress point is 129.6 μ mol/ m2·s and the point of its decomposition is 230 μ mol/ m ·s . The tiny balls will be form to adaptation to the long time strong light power. The Spirulina has a wide survival range, which pH values is 2.7 to 11.1, and it has a wide range of growth which pH values is 5.5 to 11.1 too. Its optimum pH values range is from 8.8 to 9.5. It belongs to a basophilis-acidototerant plant. Its growth temperature range is from 6 to 40 ℃ and optimum temperature range is about 24 ℃. When the temperature is reduces to 22℃ immediately (from 35℃ to 13℃), it can still grow. After it is frozen at -18℃, it still can restore to life, which is a feature that other Spirulina do not have.Compared with the introduced Spirulias platensis, it shows low temperature characteristic and wide temperature ecological amplitude. These findings can make a theoretical base for low temperature type of Spirulina platensis and help the Spirulina industry develop from the south to the north of China.
