The paper applys CCD technology, digital photogrammetry theory, GIS management technology and computer processing technology of image, combining the specialty of engineering geology catalog, to developing and studying the Engineering Geology Catalog System based on Digital Image. This system can accomplish effectively many functions through computer such as field terrane- surveying of geology catalog, drawing tectonic lines, building spatial model based on digital image, fast querying of terrane-attribute and figure database, cartography through CAD technology and so on. The paper contains many kinds of related technology and arithmetic. The major content of it is as follows.1 > This system is developed on the base of soft-engineer ideas, combining construction method and object-oriented method, completing the general design of the whole system, function modules, image code, database, interface and so on.2 x Included aberration of camera lens, measurement of camera inner position parameter3 % Pre-processing of image including transferring earth coordination to engineering coordination which is approximately level with the object, measurement of camera outer position parameter.4^ Included the content of single-picture rectification, image enhance, cutaway view of cavity, all kinds of image revelation through mosaic, and DSM collection of tunnels, many image processing method is studied.5^ The paper introduces the method of photogrammetry geology catalog. All kinds of projective graphs in various layers are received. Through the methods of pair-picture surveying and orthograph-image surveying, the obliquity and trend are measured.6> The management and querying. The constituent of geology catalog is kept in attribute and figure database, which are linked and managed through spatial database system. Meanwhile, the system can be combined with outer programmes through the technology of OLE and DDL.7^ Completing cartography through CAD technology. Through programming, an independent menu, cartography function and geological graph which accord with all kinds of request are achieved. And images could be returned to database to be saved.
