In this dissertation, diffraction on one-dimensional period anisotropic gratings with arbitrary profile and arbitrary optical axis orientation, illuminated at an arbitrary incidence angle, is analyzed by using rigorous modal theory, and Fourier factorization rules and recursive algorithm of reflection-transmission coefficient matrix(RTCM) are used in order to improve stability and convergence of numerical calculation. Not only general suitability of this method is independent of gratings model, geometry structure, medium properly and crystal axis orientation(including uniaxial crystals and biaxial ones) , but also physical concepts are clear and formula is concise. Furthermore, one-dimensional period isotropic gratings is discussed as degenerated case.Based on this, the method is successfully generalized to analyze two-dimensional period anisotropic gratings and its degenerative case.A set of calculating program was compiled by myself, in which calculation speed is fast, calculation results is exact and stability and convergence of numerical calculation is very good, in that continuum of electromagnelism on boundary is considered enough and RTCM is used.Polarizing beam splitter based resonant anomaly and achromatic polarizing beam splitter, narrow-band filters independent of polarization are theoretically designed and analyzed, the optical elements of which are applied widely in integration optics and optical fiber communication.
