The longicorn beetles community of garden plants in Nanning included 3 subfamilies 55 genera 79 species. Among them, 2 genera 2 species belonged to Prioninae .Ccrambycinac comprised 21 genera 32 species. Lamiinac comprised 32 genera 45 species. The time structure, numerical dynamic and diversity index of longicorn beetles of adults and larvae were analyzed in this paper. The seasonal regulations of community structure and numerical dynamic, and the effect of richness, evenness and dominant concntration upon the species diversity fluctation Avere revealed in this thesis. The results showed that the longicorn beetles adults mainly appeared from May to July in Nanning, and the diversity index was the highest in this period. The species and numbers of the larvae were reached the maximum in November, thc diversity index of larvae was 1.79 in this month. The diversity index of adults and larvae had an extremal negative relation with the dominant concentration. The influence of plant species and numerical composition of six different habitat areas to the longicorn beetles species and number, the characteristic and reason of the longicorn beetles distribution in Nanning were also analyzed, many control mcasuies to the longicorn beetles were raised in this paper. The morphological particularity and biological characteristics of each stage of Glenea cantor, which damaged Bombacaceas ceiba in Nanning were studied in this paper. Glenea cantor overwintered with larvae in the phloem and the xylem of damaged-wood. Behavior characteristic of each stage of this specie was described. Glenea cantor could be feeded on Bomlacaceas ceiba^Excentrodendron hsienmu^ Mangifer indlca^ Mangifer persiciforma, but it only completed its life history with Bomlacaceas ceiba. The adults copulated several times in life, and laid eggs dispersely, but mainly laid them on weak-trees.This paper also dealed with the effects of constant temperature on the development and population growth of Glenca cantor,t\\c results showed that, in the range from 20C to 30C,the higher the temperature, the shorter the stage of growth development. When it reached 32.5C,the duration of growth development was longer than that of 30C.From 20C to 30C, the correlation between the development rate of Glenea cantor at the immature stage and the environmental temperature fitted in the logistic curve. The development threshold temperature and effective accumulated temperature for growth temperature of Glenea cantor were calculated to be 10.69C and 1432.96 day-degree. It could be inferred that there would be at least 5 generations each year in Nanning. The influence of temperature on the survival rate of this specie differ during different development stages, the lowest survival rate occurred at larva stage. In the range from 20C to 30C,the highest survival rate of whole generation occurred at 30 C ,and the lowest survival rate occurred at 32.5C. The highest fecundity was recorded at 25C, the number of eggs laid was 90.2. When in 22.5C, the females' laid-egg period was 68.42 days. In 20C,the longevity of adults was the longest, average 127.12 days. The egg laid period . longevity of adults were shortened with the temperature heightened. The relations of temperature to population index for increasse coulded be fitted significantly with parabolic model. According to this model, the trend index of population reached the maximum at 25.8C, at this tempcrature, the increasing rate was about 17.3 time.
