In this paper, we review the study of correlation structure in DNA sequences, and analysis a human genome sequences using large scale fluctuation analysis. This paper include three aspects: the description of correlation structure in DNA sequences, including probability estimation of correlation functions, traditional spectral analysis, newly DNA Walk model and improved DFA methods; the study of heterogeneity and complexity in DNA sequences using entropy functions, which is related to long-range correlation in DNA sequences through a great deal numerical experiments; possible origins of long-range correlation in DNA sequences, including two models: one is insertion-deletion model, the other is mutation-duplication process.
