With the widely use of GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear),measurements of the insulation condition in GIS have became an important project, and Measurement of partial discharge (PD) is an important means of monitoring the insulation condition. However, GIS is closed, it difficult to locate the PD point position. In order to solve this problem, a PD location system for GIS was carried out in this paper. Base on the mechanism that PD process produce ultrasonic , choose theultrasonic voice-voice method design to realize the PD location system. First, analyze the characteristics of the ultrasonic, then choose the acoustic sensor and consider layout of senor in the site. The paper designs the signal conditioning circuit, choose and design the data acquisition system. Second, Design and realize the software of acoustic based on PD location system, removing noise by wavelet delousing and extracting the time delay arithmetic was optimized. Last using MATLAB to emulation the PD location system, finally verify the reliability of system and analyze the factors which can influence the precision of PD position。Results of simulation prove, the useful signal conditioning circuit and wavelet delousing can insure the integrity of signal , the time delay arithmetic was optimized, kind of improve the precise of positioning accuracy.
