Research And Design Of Weather Products Algorithm Based On Dual Polarization Doppler Radar

Nowadays, the weather forecast is important for the national daily life, industrial and agricultural production more and more. Especially accord to the accurate forecasts of disaster weather which is the great significance for the national economy, we can prepare for it ahead of time, so that could save people's lives and minimize property damage. It need analyze weather radar data for Weather forecast, thus for the deep step processing. Therefore, the accurate analysis of weather radar data sounds simple, but in reality is the accurate complicated and vast systems engineering.This paper is based on X -wave band onboard dual-polarization radar developed by CETC. In this paper, it first presents an overview of weather radar, and a brief introduction and basic principles of dual linear polarization components with Doppler radar;Then introduces the principle of dual polarization Doppler radar detection, with some important parameters, and then introduces the principles of weather radar data products generated;And then using basic data which is get by dual polarization doppler weather radar, such as echo intensity, radial velocity and speed spectrum. The data is processed by detailed analyses, coordinate transformation and calculation, which can make meteorological data and image products, and the generation principle and detailed calculation of some important products of is discussed. It's also researched and designed the doppler weather radar products generate system in this thesis, weather products generate terminal is constituted by two parts: the Radar Products Generator (RPG) and Principal User Processor (PUP). RPG and PUP is based on C/S structure of network, the TCP/IP protocol is used in the communication between these two systems. Products are made by RPG which is the server generation. PUP as the client sends requests to the server and downloads products from the server.The server supports multi-user operating mode, can simultaneously provides products to multiple users.Finally, there are a more detailed description and analysis of product generation Doppler weather radar systems and software algorithms, including several important products has been amply discussed, such as the vertical integrality of liquid (VIL), velocity azimuth display products (VAD) and composite shear products (CS).
