Soil ciliates are at the base of the heterotrophic eukaryotic food web and an essential component in soil ecosystems. Studies of their diversity are the bases for assessing and monitoring environmental changes using ciliates. In this study ciliates from different saline soils from Dongying, Changyi, and some other place were studied morphologically using living observation and protargol impregnation. And SSU rDNA phylogenies of some of these species were studied. The results of identification, classification and phylogenies of these species are summarized asfollows:(1) Seven new species: Bistichella variabilis, Saudithrix tristichella, Uroleptoides stichus, Gastrostyla sinensis, Gastrostyla quadrinucleata, Deviata caudicirrata, Urosoma binucleata.(2) SSU rDNA sequences of 8 species were acquired and analyzed: Bistichella variabilis, Saudithrix tristichella, Hemiamphisiella granulifera, Uroleptoides stichus, Gastrostyla sinensis, Gastrostyla quadrinucleata, Deviata caudicirrata, Urosomoida agilis.(3) 9 species were redescribed based on the new populations: Oxytricha longigranulosa, Sterkiella histriomuscorum, Urosomoida agilis, Hemiamphisiella granulifera, Gonostomum affine, Gonostomum gonostomoidum, Cladotricha australis, Eschaneustyla terricola, Pseudocohnilembus persalinus hexakineta.
