| Based on a simulation using the LICOM ocean model, the El Nino event and La Nina event from 2008 to 2010 are studied. The model result agrees well with the TOPEX/Poseidon altimeter sea surface height data and the Hadley sea surface temperature data. The long equatorial-wave dynamics of the El Nino and La Nina events are extracted from the model results, which explains the evolution of the interannual events.
