The Varieties Of The Yunnan Huanglong Jade (Chrismatite), Carving Practice And Evaluation Of Process.

The HuangLong (Yellow dragon) Jade occurs at Longling County in Yunnan Province. It was a kind of new jade resources t which just be found in a decade .The history of the HuangLong Jade was not very long, but it created a high-priced miracle on the jade market trading time and times. However, in the industry still has many debates about identity of the HuangLong Jade, but from another point of view, those debates were also proved the people for the HuangLong Jade attention and the affection.The HuangLong Jade has excellent carving performance, according to different varieties,the HuangLong Jade almost can use all the jade carving techniques. In Weiye Jade Carving Factory at Yunnan province Baoshan city , through the practiced of the HuangLong Jade sculpture, and communicated with thebusinessmen , I got a valuable experience . In the limited time and conditions , I personally carved a lot of the HuangLong Jade and jadeite jade works , including 14 pieces of the HuangLong Jade works , 8 pieces of jadeite pendents . Through the practice of jade carving process ,based on the analysis of the contemporary jade carving process , combining the research with different kinds of category, by integrating theory and practice , I elaborated that the different varieties of the HuangLong Jade materials processing performance characteristics, and workedout a theory and method of the HuangLong Jade works' assessment and evaluation .In this paper , I summarized the HuangLong Jade's classification accorded to their shape , color , ornamentation , mineral structure types and texture classification of transparency , and different types of the HuangLong Jade materials have different processing characteristics and product types . Through the jade carving practice , in my opinion , the HuangLong Jade carving's craft contains all the jade carving process's essence. The main processing can be summarized as six parts as analysis materials , cut the material , theme design , carve processing , polishing , later optimum processing and accessories adornment .After the exercise and accumulation of the study works , I got the summary of carving process with the HuangLong Jade , and the exploration of jade carving's design method and modelling , in my opinion : in consideration of the HangLong Jade materials which have the large volume , high yield , and relatively low price relative to the nephrite and jadeite jade , the HuangLong Jade carving can absorb the method of western sculpture techniques and traditional Chinese jade modeling techniques ; Through comparison and carving practice with the HuangLong Jade and jadeite jade , I workout the conclusion that the HuangLong Jade has outstanding processability as same as jadeite jade , and the HuangLong Jade carving works can use all the traditional jade carving's processing technology and processing techniques ; An evaluation of the HuangLong Jade article can be used the cost method , the market comparison method and income method , so in different situation we can choose the methods which fit the situation to assess jade article precisely and comprehensively ; Use of Western pencil sketch , sculpture and the design concept of painting to change the traditional design of Chinese jade carving , and so on . All in all , Through the exposition of this paper and the HuangLong Jade carving practice , the author tries to explore the field of the modern jade carving design , and even tries to seek a path for makeing the HuangLong Jade into the China mainstream jade market .
