Fluorite, also named fluor, is a common haloid minaral, chemical formula CaF2, in which Ca counts for 51.1% and F 48.9%. It is the main resource of F element in industry. Fluorite is already extensively applied to metallurgy, chemical industry and building materials industry, which has becomed one of the important non-metallic mineral metirial. Howerver, after decades of large-scale mining, the easily-found outcrop ores, shallow ores and known ores are reducing and the ores exploration is more difficult, and the crisis of fluorite resource is extremely urgent. In Chifeng, in order to find new fluorite deposits, enlarge the resource of the existing deposits and provide continuous resource for exhausted mines, the analyse of fluorite forming geological characteristics and the study of comprehensive information metallogenic prognosis are carried out,.Chifeng area belongs to fluorite-metallogenic belt in Eastern China, where the metallogenetic condition is quite advantageous and there are favourable prospect of finding fluorite ores. Based on reading, analysising and summarizing the previous material and the research result, guided by the latest metallogenic theory of fluorite, this paper has concluded the geological features and mineralization regularity of fluorite in this region. Also the paper has summarized that the favourable strata for mineralizing is the Jurassic and Cretaceous strata; the favourable magmatite is the Yanshan acidic magmatites, and the favourable structure is the intersection between NE strike faults and EW strike faults. Then, the weight-of-evidence approach is applied to forecast the fluorite ores in Chifeng, and four anomalous targets have been marked.On the basis of metallogenic prognosis of the region fluorite, taking Linxi county for example, the study of metallogenic prognosis of large scale fluorite concentration area is conducted. The ore-control factors of ore concentration areas of fluorite is distinct form that of the region fluorite. In ore concentration areas of fluorite, the favourable strata for mineralizing is the Dyassic strata; the favourable magmatite is the Yanshan intermediate-acid magmatites, and the favourable structure is NNE strike faults.
