Chaotic is a seemingly random movement without rules in a particular place. Chaos is a common nonlinear phenomenon. Its behavior is complex and similar to the random, but it has a delicate internal regularity. Chaos is between deterministic and stochastic, which has the characteristic of Spatial-temporal dynamics, and the attractors can be transferred with the evolution of the dynamic system. The study of applying chaos to the field of optimization attracted extensive attention of many scholars at home and abroad. Chaos showed its unique charm in all fields of studies. The study of chaos has significant theoretical and practical importance.This paper introduced the basic concepts of chaotic systems, analyzed the mathematical basis of that Duffing-Holmes chaotic system can be used in weak signal detection and used Lyapunov index as the basis to judge the Duffing-Holmes chaotic system phase trajectory changes. A large number of simulation experiments showed that using Duffing-Holmes chaotic system as a weak signal detection method had good detection performance. In the study of Duffing-Holmes chaotic system, we found that the system also had good detection performance even under the white Gaussian noise and colored noise. It proved that Duffing-Holmes chaotic system has strong robustness under noisy background.The weak signal detection method based on Duffing-Holmes chaotic system can be applied to the DC system grounding fault detection to directly collect and analyze signals, without changing the system structure and affecting system operation. This method benefits online monitoring and fault analysis with micro-computer protection device. This paper proved the feasibility of this method through experimental and simulation analysis. And we also explored the popularization and application of the Chaos detection system.
