The stability assessment of rockmass is the main task in the reconnaissance and designing of diversion tunnel. Taking diversion tunnel of Liaoning province Guanyin'ge reservoir as an example, using a lot of field investigation and statistics, it analysises characteristics of regional structural stressing through studying on engineering geological condition. The classification of rock mass in Dayugou-Sanjialing is carried out according to the classification system in the Engineering rockmass Standard of P.R.C and RMR system, Q system which are popular in the world. Contrasting three kind of classified results, it carries out classified results according to the classification system in the Engineering rockmass Standard of P.R.C.â…¢rockmass accounts for 36.81%, whileâ…£rockmass accounts for 62.47% andâ…¤rockmass for 0.72%. Finally, it sets up geological mechanics models of underground cavern, accomplishes the numerical simulation applying 2D-FEM and using ANSYS software, and synthetically assesses the rocks stability of underground cavern. It is in the frontier wall ofâ…£rockmass underground cavern that the cutting slipping destruction most easily accours. Synthesizes various aspects result, the stability of limestone is worst from Xinglonghu to Dazipu.
