Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a new imaging technology, which is the use of the characteristics of broadband low coherence light source to achieve high-resolution optical coherence tomography, which can image on the strong scattering media including the biological tissue. The core part is the Michelson interferometer with the broadband light source lighting, OCT technology for its non-invasive, high resolution, non-contact measurement, etc., attracted researchers attention. Numerous studies show that this technology has high value in the field of biomedical and other field.Optical coherence tomography system has many different types, and the time domain OCT is introduced here, this paper discussed firstly on the development and applications of OCT, following on the principle of OCT form of the various parts. Based on the theory, the design of the whole set of machine control, data acquisition, electronic filtering, computer imaging technology as one of the OCT imaging system is described, and experimental OCT system, the mechanical scanning system, SCM software, digital signal acquisition, image processing and other parts are also described.Here describe the design work mainly from hardware design and software design. The hardware system can get the useful information of the measured samples by changing from the optical signals into electrical signals and the electrical signals can be changed from the analog to digital and other functions; software can control the reference arm scans, signal acquisition and the OCT image processing.Experimental results show the effectiveness and feasibility of the system.
