Quaternary loess is significant in the study of Quaternary paleoenvironmental because of the bread distribution, continual deposition, the sensitivity of the global environmental change and paleoclimate evolution reaction. Coastal loess in the south of liaoning is an important part of Aeolian accumulation and a unique type of the Quaternary loess deposition. In this paper, the Environmental magnetism of the coastal loess in southern Liaoning is the basic content. A number of environmental indicators is measured, and the loess grain size, environmental magnetic parameters and calcium carbonate is studied too. Environmental magnetic characteristics in conjunction with a number of environmental indicators is comparatively analysed and they are confirmed each other. The sedimentary environment significance of coastal loess reveal the Southern Liaoning ancient climate and the evolution of ancient environments since Late Pleistocene. We comparatively analysed magnetic susceptibility curve and ice core record and deep-sea sedimentary record which detailedly reflect sedimentary Paleoclimate of Malan loess and enriched the content of eastern Quaternary coastal loess.According to the study of the magnetic characteristics in Zhoujiagou loess section in this area, it is revealed that the temperature of the sedimentary of Malan loess is cooler and dryer than it of Langgangshan in the eastern coastal and Shengshan. The Calcium carbonate Leaching and Pedogenesis and clay content are increased, and superparamagnetic magnetic particles has more proportion accounted so that Magnetic susceptibility is higher than other factor. This research results enrich the content of the loess research in the eastern continental shelf, which can provide reference information for reconstructing the ancient climate and the ancient environments in eastern China and has some significance to the research of ancient paleoclimate and East Asia monsoon change of loess in China.
