The problems of false propaganda and sales of substandard products, counterfeit products, swiping, and traffic falsification in e-commerce have negatively affected the whole industry, thus many companies are willing to disclose true information to stakeholders. However,in the absence of any guarantee mechanism, even if companies disclose true information, stakeholders will not fully believe it.Thus,it becomes particularly important to improve the reliability of information disclosure, yet current research has not systematically explored this issue. For the increasingly complex e-commerce environment, how to improve the reliability of product information disclosure through digital technology in the e-commerce supply chain and integrate it into the operation management model, and then explore the supply chain transparency and pricing strategy of products is a key issue that needs to be addressed by both academics and practitioners. Thus, based on the fact that blockchain technology can improve the reliability of information disclosure, this dissertation establishes a series of supply chain management models to different e-commerce scenarios and the corresponding blockchain technology application boundaries based on return policy selection, channel selection, live streaming and information asymmetry of influencers’ conversion rate, with the goal of improving supply chain performance, which can help promote the healthy development of e-commerce market. The main research contents and practical suggests are briefly described as follows:First, for the problems of false propaganda and counterfeit products in e-commerce,current studies have not explored the transparency level and pricing decisions based on blockchain technology to improve the reliability of disclosed product information. This dissertation addresses this issue based on blockchain technology from single-channel,competitive channel and dual-channel supply chains respectively, and constructs a game model to analyze the equilibrium decisions and profits of firms under different channel structures.Under a single channel containing one supplier and one retailer,th IS dissertation also explores the impact of adopting blockchain technology on the decisions of supply chain transparency level, wholesale and retail price, and the impact of subsidies on the conditions of blockchain technology adoption. To demonstrate the robustness of the results, considering two competing retailers, the impact of competition on product pricing and consumer surplus is further analyzed. The conditions for the supplier to open a direct sale channel is also explored and the results under supplier-led,retailer-led and equal power are compared to establish the impact of corporate power structure on supply chain decisions and profits. The results of th IS dissertation can provide useful references for firms in choosing different supply chain structures to help them better manage their supply chains and provide better products and services to consumers.Second, there is a high return rate in e-commerce,current studies have not yet explored the interaction between the efficiency of product information disclosure and the return policy choice based on blockchain technology. To address this issue, considering that improving the reliability of information disclosure can increase consumer utility and thus reduce the return rate, different refund policies and shipping insurance policies are considered in this dissertation. On the one hand, the pricing and transparency level decisions are established under the no-refund,partial-refund,and full-refund policies, respectively, and the impact of refund on information disclosure and pricing is established by comparing the equilibrium results under different refund policies. To demonstrate the robustness of these results, this dissertation explores the impact of adoption cost sharing, blockchain technology adoption decisions, return shipping cost bearers, and social responsibility on retailers’ refund policy choices. On the other hand, the retailer’s decisions on pricing and transparency level are further explored under no return shipping insurance(RSI),free RSI,and paid RSI from considering consumer heterogeneity and different RSI premiums, and the interaction between information disclosure efficiency and RSI selection strategies is clarified. The findings can guide retailers to scientifically and rationally use blockchain technology to reduce return rate and provide optimal return policy to ensure the sustainability of e-commerce supply chain.Third, considering the direct demand brought by live streaming to e-commerce,this dissertation explores the interaction between product information disclosure based on blockchain technology and live streaming to promote demand. To address this issue, based on the reliability of product disclosure guaranteed by blockchain technology and the additional demand that live streaming can attract, the adoption cost of blockchain technology and the commissions and pit fees of live streaming are simultaneously considered and modeled to establish the retailer’s pricing, transparency level, and influencers selection decisions when investing between live streaming and blockchain technology,as well as the investment strategies between blockchain technology and live streaming of retailers with different budgets. To demonstrate the robustness of these results, the model and results were further analyzed under a full refund policy, thus clarifying the impact of refund policy choice on decision-making and profitability. The findings show that blockchain technology and live streaming are substitute for retailers with limited budget and may also be complements for retailers with unlimited budgets, which is closely related to the adoption cost and the commission level. These findings can guide retailers in selecting appropriate return policies to maximize profits and market impact, and have important implications and guidance for retailers’ investment decisions and management practices. Finally, considering the problem that MCN(Multi-Channel Network)exaggerates the influencers’ influence data in live streaming, thus causing the asymmetry of influencers’ conversion rate information, how to achieve the true and effective disclosure of influencers’ conversion rate information needs to be studied. To address this problem,on the one hand, this dissertation considers the disclosure of influencers’ conversion rate information through cooperative negotiation, establishes a Nash negotiation model between a retailer and an MCN based on different negotiation capabilities, analyzes the impact of the retailer’s negotiation capability on decision-making and profits from the corresponding negotiation solutions, and clarifies the conditions for negotiation to achieve Pareto improvement in the system. On the other hand, considering that the MCN can apply blockchain technology to generate reliable data to signal the real influencers’ conversion rate to retailers,a signaling game model explores the conditions for MCNs to adopt blockchain technology,a retailer’s influencers selection and product pricing decisions, specifies the conditions for separating equilibrium, pooling equilibrium, and semi-separating equilibrium, and eliminates the multiple equilibria. These findings can help to improve the negotiation ability of firms and establish reliable cooperative relationships between firms, and provide theoretical guidance for MCNs and retailers in terms of adopting blockchain technology to enhance the information disclosure of influencers’ conversion rate and reduce the impact of information asymmetry. |
