| Nowadays,with the progress of globalization and rapid development of modern information technology,transnational connections become unprecedentedly close.Against this background,the “identity”-“country image” gradually becomes one of the strategic emphases in international competition.As a matter of fact,the essence of country image is mutual recognition among countries.However,in the current international dissemination pattern,China faces a realistic dilemma on country image,i.e.China is regarded as “the other” by western countries.In such a context,the construction of “Image of China” and international dissemination capacity is uplifted as a national strategy and becomes a hot topic in the academic circle.Sports as the symbol of human progress and a driving force to social development represents “an important carrier of national cultural soft power”,as President XI Jinping repeatedly stresses that “strong sports make China strong” and “to build a leading sports nation is one of the significant goals of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way”.Currently,there are very limited researches on transcultural dissemination of sports and nearly no researches on the construction of transcultural dissemination capacity of Chinese sports in the academic circle.Guided by Marxist historical materialism,this thesis comprehensively and systematically investigates the construction of transcultural dissemination capacity of Chinese sports and inner mechanism between itself and the construction of country image,and aims to construct a localized theory and practice system for the sustainable improvement of such capacity by learning from the knowledge resources of western academic circle and applying the research paradigm of “transcultural dissemination” instead of traditional “international dissemination”,as well as methods such as the unification of history and logic,combination of “supposed research” and“actual research”,and combination of critical analysis and constructive analysis.This thesis mainly contains the aspects below:First,it analyzes and defines the core concepts of this paper;The theoretical basis of the study is briefly explained,mainly Marx’s world history theory and community thought,cultural communication thought,Xi Jinping’s cultural power theory and the concept of human destiny community.At the same time,it combs the knowledge resources used for reference in this study,such as multiculturalism,post colonialism,Habermas’ communicative behavior theory and so on.Second,it expounds the era background and logical premise of improving China’s sports cross-cultural communication ability from the perspective of national image construction.This paper analyzes the trend of cultural diversity and the conflict and integration in cultural communication in the era of globalization;This paper discusses that the competition of cultural soft power has increasingly become one of the key points of international competition in the era of globalization,the national image is the representation of cultural soft power,and the cross-cultural communication ability of sports is an important embodiment of national cultural soft power;It is proposed that cultural self-confidence is the logical premise to improve the cross-cultural communication ability of Chinese sports and construct the national image.Third,it discusses that national construction is the national mission to improve the cross-cultural communication ability of Chinese sports.This paper analyzes the media attribute of sports and its advantages and characteristics in cross-cultural communication;This paper discusses the national cultural gene and identity function of sports;This paper expounds the Chinese national patriotism spirit contained in sports and its internal logical relationship with the construction of national image,and puts forward and demonstrates that the construction of national image is the contemporary mission to improve the crosscultural communication ability of Chinese sports;However,the nationality of Chinese sports culture can be fully and perfectly interpreted only when it is shared in the world.Therefore,realizing cultural sharing is an indispensable value dimension for crosscultural communication and capacity-building of Chinese sports.Fourth,it discusses the evolution of Chinese image in the international sports world and the cross-cultural communication ability of sports since modern times.In the narrative way of national collective memory,this paper reproduces the image of "sick man of East Asia" in modern China in the international sports world and the image of "other" constructed by Western modernity discourse;This paper reviews the image construction process of new China growing into a world sports power;This paper discusses the new mileage of China’s opening sports cross-cultural communication ability and sports power image construction in the new era.Fifthly,it analyzes the challenges and main problems faced by the improvement of China’s sports cross-cultural communication ability from the perspective of national image construction.This paper expounds the world communication order and China’s due role in the unprecedented historical change in a century;This paper analyzes the current situation and characteristics of the development of sports cross-cultural communication ability in China,as well as a series of new challenges faced by the current era;This paper comprehensively and deeply investigates the main problems and restrictive factors existing in the construction of sports cross-cultural communication ability in China.Sixth,it discusses the path choice of improving China’s sports cross-cultural communication ability from the perspective of national image construction.This paper puts forward and demonstrates that the construction of "communication space destiny community" is the spatial governance demand for the improvement of China’s sports cross-cultural communication ability;This paper analyzes the logic of the promotion of sports cross-cultural communication ability;Taking the
