Research On The Materialistic Tendency Of Current College Students And Its Coping

In the report of the 20th Party Congress,General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that Chinese-style modernization is a coordinated modernization of material and spiritual civilization.At present,the young generation is more positive,and college students "born in a prosperous era,shouldering a heavy responsibility" must aspire to be ideal,dare to take responsibility,able to bear hardships,willing to struggle to be a good youth of the times.However,a small number of college students may have bad thoughts such as "money first"and utilitarianism and tendency of excessive consumption.This tendency of thinking and behavior ignores the social attributes of human beings,which tends to make people fall into the development dilemma of "atomized individual" and is not conducive to the cohesion and development of social spirit.Solving this problem can not only promote college students to establish social ideals and assume social responsibilities,but also has important significance for China to deepen the implementation of the strategy of strengthening the country with talents in the new era and better construct the Chinese spirit and Chinese values.The definition of the concept of materialism is still controversial,and the study of the response to the perspective should start from the cognitive,emotional and volitional reactions of materialistic tendencies and their nature.The conceptual characteristics of materialistic tendencies are characterized by deviations in ideology such as self-view and development,righteousness and utilitarianism,and materialism and life,which should be addressed through education on dissipation and prevention.Materiality is a necessity in the world of life,and the criteria for determining whether an individual has materialistic tendencies and to what extent or indicator requires intervention are the basis of the study.And the blind spot of consciousness in the self-view,the lack of autonomy of emotional will and the educational plasticity in behavioral tendencies can assist in judging materialistic tendencies.Marxist theory provides a scientific worldview and methodology,while the ideas of Chinese excellent traditional culture are profound and have global significance and contemporary value,it can provide an ideological and cultural solution for abandoning and transcending materialistic tendencies.The ideas of "taking profit and making harmony,loving the world","to be mindful and knowledgeable,to serve the public and the people","to see the simple,to value life and not profit",can provide lessons from the traditional cultural perspective for preventing and it can be used as a reference to prevent and eliminate materialistic tendencies.Psychological self-identity theory and other theories can find a path to solve the problem from the perspective of self-construction and the meaning of life.The combination of quantitative and qualitative survey proves that the overall development of the current college students is positive,with the coordinated development of materialism and spirit,and a few students have materialistic tendency.Its specific manifestation is the value tendency of material worship,the development tendency of utilitarianism,the life orientation of over-consumption and the competition orientation of lying flat and involution.This will not only lead to the loss of their subjective criticality and social adaptability,but also have a negative impact on individual physical and mental health and social ecology and spiritual and cultural development.The objective influence of market economy,the influx of wrong social thinking,the current dilemma of school education,the influence of family materialistic concept,the lack of individual self and insufficient cognitive ability are the main causes of materialistic tendency of college students.Therefore,educators should comprehensively and systematically solve the current problem of materialistic tendencies of some college students from the formation causes and root causes.At the social level,the superiority of our socialist system should be brought into play,the development process of achieving common prosperity should be promoted,and the leading role of socialist core values should be strengthened.The school level should strengthen the ideological and theoretical education related to Marxism,pay attention to the teaching of ideas related to the excellent Chinese traditional culture,and improve the subj ective critical thinking ability of college students.At the family level,we should promote the construction of traditional family culture,foster a humanistic atmosphere in the family,and promote the pursuit of values at the social level of children.At the level of self,we should promote the individual’s thinking about the meaning of life,improve the individual’s psychological self-reliance and self-identity,etc.,aiming to solve the current materialistic tendency of college students to the maximum extent.
