The mass view is the core content of Marxism and the theoretical weapon of the proletarian party.During the Chinese revolution,Mao Zedong combined the Marxist-Leninist mass view with China’s reality to form his own mass view,which played a guiding role in the victory of the new democratic revolution and at the same time left a huge space for future generations to explore.It has become an important issue that has long been concerned by the academic community.Since the reform and opening up,Chinese society has undergone profound changes,and the composition and characteristics of the masses are significantly different from those in the past.How to look at the main position of the masses in the new era,how to continue to maintain the flesh and blood ties between the party and the people,etc,we need to go back to Mao Zedong’s mass view to find the answer.Only by inheriting and Developing Mao Zedong’s mass view can we promote the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics in practice.On the basis of previous studies,this paper attempts to make a holistic thinking and Research on Mao Zedong’s mass thought by means of text interpretation and summary,so as to systematically restore the true connotation of Mao Zedong’s mass view,which helps to clarify the theoretical outline of Mao Zedong’s mass view and deepen the understanding of Marxist mass view.Studying Mao Zedong’s mass view has important theoretical and practical significance.Mastering Mao Zedong’s mass view and excavating its theoretical implication can provide theoretical support for mass work in the new era,provide beneficial enlightenment and solutions to the challenges and problems encountered by the party’s mass theory at this stage,so as to consolidate the ruling foundation of the party and realize the great goal of long-term stability and national rejuvenation.This paper is divided into six parts.The first chapter combs the theoretical sources of the formation of Mao Zedong’s mass view,mainly explains the basic content of Marx,Engels,Lenin’s mass thought and Chinese Traditional People-oriented Thought,and on this basis,explains Mao Zedong’s inheritance and development of the mass view of Marxism-Leninism.The second chapter summarizes the mass category under the vision of Mao Zedong thought,mainly from the connotation and extension,composition and characteristics of the masses.The third chapter is Mao Zedong’s Thought on the status and role of the masses,mainly from three dimensions:first,the masses of the people are the power to create history;second,the masses of farmers are the main force of the Chinese revolution;third,relying on the masses is the key to the success of the Chinese revolution.The fourth chapter focuses on Mao Zedong’s thoughts of Party-masses relationship.From the perspectives of the relationship between the vanguard and the foundation,the close relationship between fish and water,the relationship between teachers and students,the relationship between representatives and social masters,and the relationship between leader and led,etc,this paper discusses the dialectical relationship between the party and the masses as interdependence and mutual promotion.The fifth chapter explains Mao Zedong’s creative contribution to the mass line and Mao Zedong’s mass work methods formed in the revolutionary practice.The sixth chapter discusses the contemporary enlightenment of Mao Zedong’s view on the masses,mainly from the three perspectives of "who to rely on,for whom,and who I am",that is to say,to build socialism with Chinese characteristics must rely on the masses,and to develop a socialist society must adhere to the people-centered approach.To maintain the party’s advanced nature,we must always represent the fundamental interests of the people.
