A Comparative Study Of Two Representative Works Of The History Of The Communist Party Of China Written By Hu Qiaomu And Hu Sheng

It has been nearly a hundred years since the founding of the Communist Party of China.Because the CPC attaches great importance to the function of education of history,The study of the history of the Communist Party of China is almost carried out with the birth of the Communist Party of China.In the course of these decades,the research on the history of the Communist Party of China has achieved fruitful results,and a large number of research works on the history of the party and the history of revolution have been produced.Among these achievements,there are two most noteworthy works——the thirty years of the Communist Party of China,written by Hu Qiaomu and published in 1951,and the seventy years of the Communist Party of China,edited by Hu Sheng and published in 1991.These two works are the sacrificial achievements of the anniversary of the birth of the Communist Party of China.Hu Qiaomu and Hu Sheng,the main persons in charge of the compilation work,are important figures in the ideological and theoretical front of the Communist Party of China.As a result,the two works gained political authority as soon as they were published.To some extent,they can be regarded as the "official history" in the traditional sense of China.They are also rare works that narrate the whole process of the party’s history from the founding of the Communist Party of China(1921)to the time of publication(1951 / 1991).They has aroused great repercussions in the academic circles and even in the whole Chinese society,and has obtained quite high evaluation.It is regarded as the representative work of the study of the history of the CPC.They narrated the whole process of the historical development of the Communist Party of China in different historical periods and summed up the experience of the Communist Party of China leading the Chinese people to carry out revolution and construction.There are similarities,and differences in their narratives and summaries of the CPC’s history.This is not only the product of the internal logic of the development of the discipline of CPC history and the academic evolution of CPC history research,but also the mapping of the evolution of China’s social and political environment.This suggests that the study of these two works can not only stay in the comparison of the text.Based on the comparison of the two historical works,This paper tries to study the development and progress of the subject of the history of the Communist Party of China from the perspectives of diction and discourse,narrative mode and historical style,and then grasp the thinking of the CPC’s own history in different times.
