At present we are in the midst of a deepening rivalry between the United States its European allies constituting the West and Russia along with its allies constituting the East.By the end of former President Barack Obama’s last term in office, the West and the East found themselves continually locked in a struggle and were on a collision course that has led the world into a continuation of instability and occasionally tense political situations. With the election of Donald Trump,a selfproclaimed anti-globalist as the president of the United States,a continuation of conflicts in Ukraine,Syria,Yemen and potentially North Korea continue as key tension areas in a continual geo-political chess game. With countries like Libya,Iraq and Afghanistan left in shambles the line has been blurred in what some countries refer to as civil wars and what countries of the east and non-aligned refer to as intervention in an attempt at régime change. In the present political climate, regime change is not only the forceful changing of another countries government but an attempt to restructure and streamline a country or region in regards to its political, economic and or social values into one sphere of influence or another.Russia and the United States continually find themselves sitting at opposite ends of continual proxy wars while simultaneously funding and backing opposing warring factions.Since the start of Donald Trump’s first term as America’s new president his policy and rhetoric continue to raise questions in the public domain about the true objectives of his America first policy and it’s attempt at a new world order.Research Questions· Is Donald Trump’s policy a continuation of previous attempts at globalization? Will the United States continue to single handedly lead the world with a unipolar policy?· Has the future direction of globalization changed? What will be the outcome of a so called America first policy?· Is the America first policy in line with previous policies of American led globalization?· Finally, how can the East and west collaborate to formulate a common global arrangement that will complement the inevitable rise of the present multipolar world? This thesis is an adequate analysis of globalization and its accompanying neo-cold war phenomenon;cause and effect. This literary work sheds light on the larger revelation at hand. The pages that are written provide more context as well as a clearer picture of what globalization truly means and its effect on the world’s political economy, regional geopolitics and more.Globalization has for long been portrayed as a mostly western structured force for positive change that has been sweeping the world linking distant capitals, policies and corporate entities.Previous globalist led policies by the United States and mostly NATO allies have also had real and lasting affects to varying degrees in various regions of the world and have undoubtedly been a catalyst for a multitude of positive shifts as well as negative ones.In regards to the later, todays world has been continually experiencing an increase of global conflicts, global refugee crisis as well as what many term as the second coming of a cold war between Russia and the United States and their allies. In this literary work I will delve into the historical background of globalization its root ideals and ideas and the conflicts that precipitated it.I will draw connections between some of today’s present geo political stand offs and the policies enacted. This thesis is set to prove if or not the multi-polar global system at play challenging the established westernuni-polar global model will only lead to a further destabilizing global situation. In order for a true attempt at global peace,or an easing of hostilities,if that be the objective, the west and east must collaborate to formulate a common global arrangement in which an inevitable multi-polar world is accepted and constituted as the order of the day,not just by rhetoric but through policy.(Thesis Statement;this idea is to be proven)Chapter one encompasses the basic foundation of the thesis comprises of the background, literature review, theoretical framework and outline.Chapter two explains four Paradigmatic social views which include an analyzing of the background of international institutions and views on radical humanists, radical structuralists, interpretive views, and functionalist theories that go along with mans’ illustrious past which eventually lead to the general formation of our global system that has led us to this point in regards to the present global political construct and the uni-polar rise of American global power and Western institutions..Chapter three will shed light on the multiple faces of globalization as well as polarity and how its effects will be viewed and felt differently throughout the globe.Chapter four will go further to give insight in to what exactly the "Neo Cold War” is.This chapter will also draw the connection between Globalization and the Neo Cold war.Furthermore this chapter goes further to analyze the relationship between “globalization” and the neo-cold war and the implications of a the neo-cold war and the future global order looking to what comes next and provides insight as well as projections on the kind of international order that will result out of the neo-cold war and how nations may shape and create a new world. At present the neo-cold war opens a gate to instability and uncertainty in a time when the global community is in great need of a coalition of the mutually cooperative. The world is facing a transitional period in it’s fairly recently created political systems.A cold war will once again test the will of global institutions, governments, and technology and governed populous,a rise in global terrorism is a prime example of this. What will be the result of the second coming of the “cold war?”Globalization has undoubtedly had a major and lasting impact on the contemporary economy. This thesis sketches main directions of analysis of this complex phenomenon. The ideas included in this thesis shed light on the fact that in spite of its powerful unification influence, the unified institutional framework of economy and politics may not be the result of globalization. Therefore,it seems that more moderate and less deterministic comprehensions of globalization are more helpful for the understanding of both the essence and effects of globalization. With the parameters of globalization not yet fully defined in the public arena an impending neo-Cold War” only complicates an already rugged geopolitical terrain.
