Research On Li Zehou’s "Accumulation Theory"

"Sedimentation theory" is the core theory with original significance put forward by Li Zehou,and it is also one of Li Zehou’s most influential and controversial theoretical discourse.The word "sedimentation" was first coined by Li Zehou.Nowadays,it has not only become an academic term,but also a discourse of daily life,and widely appears in modern Chinese.Looking at its evaluation,the domestic academic circles have supported its voice,but the voice of doubt is continuous;However,the "sedimentation theory" has received unanimous praise abroad and is considered to be an academic theory with oriental characteristics.This phenomenon is reminding us that there is still room for us to study the sedimentation theory.From the perspective of time,the birth and development of "sedimentation theory" almost accompanied Li Zehou’s academic career.1956-1963 was the embryonic period of sedimentation theory.At this stage,Li Zehou has noticed the important role of social and historical dimensions and practice,and the "sedimentation theory" is about to emerge.1964-1979 was the initial formation period of the sedimentation theory.Since it was formally put forward in 1964,the "sedimentation theory" has continuously improved its theoretical connotation and established a basic theoretical framework during this period.The "sedimentation theory" in this period paid more attention to human groups,rationality,and historical inevitability.After 1980,the theory of sedimentation has been further developed and improved.It extends attention to human individuals,sensibility and chance,and expands from the field of philosophy to the field of aesthetics and ideological culture.From the perspective of discipline,Li Zehou took the "sedimentation theory" as the center,and successively opened the exploration in the fields of philosophy,aesthetics and cultural thought.This exploration can be summarized in two aspects:one is the theoretical construction carried out by the "sedimentation theory",and the other is the cultural criticism practice carried out by the "sedimentation theory".The former involves philosophy and aesthetics,while the latter involves the study of cultural history and ideological history.The two complement each other,are based on each other,and gradually improve.The former provides the latter with a theoretical basis and thinking path,while the latter is the historical development of the former,providing it with cultural and historical evidence.In this way,Li Zehou established a harmonious theoretical system around the "sedimentation theory".In this theoretical system,Li Zehou has created a series of creative academic languages,such as "humanization of nature","cultural psychological structure","tool noumenon","psychological noumenon" and "emotional noumenon" in the field of philosophy,and "witchcraft history tradition","music culture" and "practical rationality" in the field of ideology and culture are based on "sedimentation theory".The theory of beauty,the theory of beauty and the theory of art in the field of aesthetics all take the "sedimentation theory" as the logical origin.In addition,Li Zehou’s most influential book describing the history of Chinese aesthetic taste,the course of beauty,is a vivid demonstration of the "sedimentation theory".Why does the sedimentation theory have such strong theoretical vitality? This is because it is in the overlapping vision of history,aesthetics and psychology.It takes practice as its basic position,and it always acts as a bridge between the two in the relationship of unity of opposites.However,while the "sedimentation theory" shows its all inclusive theoretical characteristics,it also exposes its limitations of giving consideration to one thing and losing the other.
