Montaigne And Chinese Modern Essays

In the issue of "foreign aid" in modern Chinese prose,Montaigne has always been an important source of influence.The academic community has achieved fruitful results in translation,parallel research,comparative research,and other fields of British essay writing.However,the source of British essay-Montaigne essay in France and its relationship with modern Chinese prose have not been fully explored.As the founder of Western essays,Montaigne Essay holds exemplary significance in both thought and form,and British Essay was influenced by it and became famous in the world’s literary world.What kind of literary style is Montaigne essai and how did it come into being? What are the characteristics? How did it spread to China and how did it react to modern Chinese literature? What is the relationship with modern Chinese essays? On the one hand,answering these series of questions helps to tap into the theoretical resources of Western prose and gain a more comprehensive understanding of the style of essay from a cross-cultural perspective;On the other hand,"foreign aid" participated in the construction of modern Chinese prose theory,and exploring this literary style helps to enrich the research of modern Chinese prose theory.This paper comprehensively adopts the methods of literature research,parallel research and comparative research,combined with the theories of hermeneutics,psychoanalysis,etc.,starting from stylistic genesis,through the exploration of the origin of the style of Montaigne’s essays,discusses the meaning and value of Montaigne and his essays in the history of western thought and literature,and on the basis of systematically combing Montaigne’s translation,acceptance and response in modern China,through parallel comparison,Elaborated on the inherent relationship between Montaigne’s essays and modern Chinese intellectuals,especially the style of modern Chinese essays.The first chapter mainly discusses Montaigne’s life,the classicality of his essays,and the origin of his essays.Combining with Montaigne’s era,it analyzes the exemplary significance of his essays in terms of ideology,language,and style.It also explores the inheritance relationship between Montaigne’s essays and ancient Hiro’s prose in detail.Chapter 2 systematically reviews Montaigne’s translation and dissemination in modern China based on linear time.Chapter 3 takes the internal structure and characteristics of Montaigne’s skepticism as the starting point,and analyzes its origin and relationship with Chinese intellectuals’ skepticism from three aspects: psychological emotions,ideological methods,and life practice.The fourth chapter elaborates on the inherent relationship between Montaigne’s essays and modern Chinese essays in terms of poetic characteristics from three aspects: self referential,inter subjectivity,and stylistic paradoxes.In summary,this study focuses on the exploration and introduction of knowledge archaeology in Montaigne’s essays.At the same time,it systematically sorts out Montaigne’s translation,dissemination,and acceptance in modern China,elaborates on the cross temporal and spatial interaction between Montaigne and modern Chinese intellectuals in terms of internal spirit and stylistic poetics,reveals the emergence of modern Chinese essays in the context of modernity,and also forms a unique reflection on the style of essays,Provide a new theoretical perspective and reference for the current research on prose theory.
