| The Wei Book is a series of documents created by the Han people based on the studies of the Heaven and Human in pre Qin and established according to the scriptures.The book aims to take the Tao of Heaven and Human as the foundation and promote the idea of WangTao that faces the world and covers all generations.The Tao of Heaven and Human elucidated in the Book of Changes not only has its corresponding characteristics in scriptures,but also reflects the connotations of different levels of WangTao’s thoughts.At the same time,it integrates and sees each other’s explanations with other Wei books,jointly developing a highly consistent ideal of WangTao.The first chapter examines the historical origin and theoretical background of the thought of Yi Wei.This chapter is divided into three sections.Firstly,the emergence of the Book of Changes and the canonization process of the Book of Changes;Secondly,the connection between Yi Wei and the Study of Heaven and Human in the pre Qin and Western Han dynasties;Thirdly,the production process and ideological characteristics of Yi Wei.Firstly,the Book of Changes is most closely related to the Book of Changes.The Book of Changes underwent a process of canonization from the Pre Qin to the Western Han Dynasty,accompanied by the establishment of exemplary forms of Confucian classics and the emergence of theoretical forms of the integration of the Five Classics.These are all phased achievements in the development of Confucian classics in the Han Dynasty.These achievements made the emergence of Yi Wei possible.Secondly,the thought of Yi Wei was influenced by the astronomy of the Pre Qin Dynasty and the Western Han Dynasty.Yi Wei combined the Interactions Between Heaven and Mankind theory with the calendar of the Han Dynasty through the theory of divinatory symbols,and revealed the connotation of the common way of heaven and man by using the thought of yin and yang and the trunk and branch.Finally,the emergence and development of the ideas in the Book of Changes are consistent with the development trajectory of the Han Dynasty’s Confucian classics,especially the Book of Changes.Therefore,it is possible to speculate on the process of the emergence and changes of the ideas in the Book of Changes.One of the important opportunities for the emergence of Yi Wei was the emphasis placed by the ruling class during the reign of Emperor Xuan and Emperor Yuan on the idea of disasters and anomalies.The content of the dispatch of disasters and disasters began to appear in a large number in the imperial edicts and the response of courtiers.Although scholars have different interpretations of disasters and disasters,they all use the imbalance of yin and yang as the fundamental basis for explaining disasters and disasters.The basic principle of using yin and yang to explain disasters and anomalies also exists in the Book of Changes.Therefore,it can be inferred that the basic ideas of the Book of Changes had already appeared during the reign of Emperor Xuan and Emperor Yuan.In addition,the development and finalization of the ideas in Yi Wei are related to the emergence of social crises and the prevalence of numerology in the late Western Han Dynasty.The second chapter elaborates on the connection between Yi Wei and the study of Heaven and Human in the Qin and Han dynasties.One of the major theoretical sources of the thought of heaven and man in the Book of Changes is the idea of the integration of Heaven and Human,which originated from the pre Qin period.The thought of the integration of Heaven and Human in the pre Qin period was preliminarily elucidated in the Book of Songs and Zuo Zhuan.Through the interpretation of various sages in the pre Qin period,the deep meaning of the integration of heaven and man was revealed,which also became the ideological tone of the Book of Changes.The thought of the integration of Heaven and Human in the Western Han Dynasty developed by ChunQiu Fanlu.The interpretation of the combination of the theory of Heaven and Human with the theory of yin and yang inspired the Confucian classics including Wei Xiang and Meng Xi.Their further interpretation of the Confucianism of the integration of yin and yang eventually established the theoretical framework of Yi Wei,which was mainly based on the theory of divinatory symbols.The third chapter defines the meanings of heaven and man in the Book of Changes,and elaborates on the three meanings of Heaven in the Book of Changes:Natural Heaven,Divine Heaven,and Inductive Heaven.The Book of Changes believes that Human are born from the Qi of the Five Elements,and thus possess the Five Virtues corresponding to the Five Constants.The definition of Human in Yi Wei is closely related to its understanding of Heaven,and there is an inherent consistency between the Taos of Heaven and Human.The definition of the meaning of heaven and man in Yi Wei,as well as the consistency between humanity and the Tao of heaven,are the basis for the development of its study of Heaven and Human.The fourth chapter explores the unfolding structure and specific connotations of the thought of heaven and man in the Book of Changes.Firstly,the development of the ideas in Yi Wei is based on the different levels of the connotation of heaven.The book Wei elaborates on the generation,order,and operation of the hexagram qi in the natural horizon.The meaning of the generation of hexagram qi includes two levels:the generation of hexagram qi and the generation of the universe.The Book of Changes believes that the generation of hexagram qi and all things reflects a constant and universal order,which is the core mechanism of mutual induction between heaven and man.Rites and music are the specific connotations of this order.Under the heaven vision of LiYue,Yi Wei combines the theory of Guaqi Yi with the thought of law calendar,and points out the high coincidence and Synchronicity between the evolution of heaven and historical changes,based on the theory of calendar,Six Day Seven Parts method,and Yao Chen thoughts.This correspondence and Synchronicity is the foundation of the theory of divinatory gas induction in Yi Wei,and also an important characteristic of the theory of divinatory gas in Yi Wei.Under the celestial vision of the gods,Yi Wei further elaborates on the connotation of hexagram Qi induction.The Book of Changes believes that there is an induction between Guaqi,Political Tao,and human body and mind,and the most important of these induction is the mutual induction between the king and the heavenly Dao.Therefore,the royal Dao is the hub connecting the heavenly Dao and humanity.Furthermore,from the perspective of different levels of heaven,Yi Wei elaborates on the significance and value of human nature.Finally,the Book of Changes points out that the king is not only the main maker and implementer of human political principles,but also the carrier and promoter of the mission of the Heavenly Tao Therefore,he regards the king as the core of the relationship between Heaven and Man,and thus deduces the ideological purpose of the Book of Changes,which is to make the king practice the royal way and promote benevolent governance to achieve the ideal of the royal way of maximizing etiquette and music.Chapter Five elaborates on the essence and purpose of the Heavenly and Human Thoughts in the Book of Changes.The ideological essence of Yi Wei has two key meanings:firstly,it elaborates on the changing trajectory of the Tao of Heaven and Human as the rhythm of Guaqi messages;secondly,it summarizes the constancy of the order of rites and music in the flow of changes in the universe of Heaven and Human.Based on this understanding,Yi Wei further elaborates on the consistency between the flow and evolution of the Heavenly Way and the changes in humanity through the interpretation of Yi through history and the verification of Yi through history.The Book of Changes argues that this consistency is not only the key to understanding the connection between heaven and man,but also highlights the responsibility and significance of the role of the king,who is at the core of the order between heaven and man.As a result,the Book of Changes proposed the corresponding ideal of Wang Tao as its ideological purpose.The series of interpretations of the order of Heaven and Human,as well as the ideal connotation of the royal path,in the Book of Changes also marks the completion of the canonization of the scriptures in the Book of Changes,ultimately constructing a highly stable cultural belief in ritual and music with the core connotation of the Five Constants.This belief played an important role in promoting the development of Confucian classics and the formation of Chinese cultural traditions in later generations.The sixth chapter elaborates on the ideological tension of Yi Wei,the connection between Yi Wei and the Eastern Han Yi family,and the impact of Yi Wei ideology on future generations.Firstly,there are two tendencies in the study of heaven and man in the Book of Changes,namely the tendency to control monarchy and the tendency to promote Wang’s Power.These two tendencies were simultaneously strengthened with the systematization of the thought in the Book of Changes,thus forming a strong ideological tension and burying the causes of the decline of Confucian classics.In addition,the three schools of Yi studies,Xun Shuang,Zheng Xuan,and Yu Fan,emerged in the Eastern Han Dynasty,and their ideological origins and development were closely related to the Yi Wei.Finally,the ideas of heaven and man,as well as the theory of WangTao,elaborated in the Book of Changes,not only had a significant impact on the formation and solidification of the Han Dynasty’s cultural beliefs in ritual and music,but also had a profound impact on the social and political forms of later generations,as well as the personal fate of literati. |
