| Since modern times,great changes have taken place in Chinese society,and the fields of thought and knowledge have also changed accordingly.Among them,the western knowledge system and discipline system have the greatest influence on the Chinese intellectual circle,and the original Chinese knowledge system has been completely overturned.This process of knowledge division has its positive effects,but it also decomposes the overall nature of Chinese culture,leading to misunderstandings and misunderstandings about the spirit of Chinese culture.In the process of seeking ideological modernization,some modern scholars also paid attention to the integrity principle of Chinese culture,hoping to regain the spirit of Chinese culture in the process of integration between China and the West.Thome Fang is a representative figure in this field.Thome Fang is a great scholar in the field of modern Chinese philosophy and has the reputation of "oriental poetry and philosophy".His academic thought is broad,which is not only influenced by Chinese traditional culture,but also trained by western academic methods.In his later years,he had a lot of experience in the study of Huayan Sect,and can be described as a typical person who combines Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism.As Thome Fang has learned from both Chinese and Western Indian,Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism cultures,and has formed his own unique insight,his thoughts are more general.Moreover,Thome Fang’s own experience and personality characteristics also showed a strong spirit of communication.On the one hand,he has learned a lot in academia,not only has a deep understanding of Chinese culture,but also is familiar with ancient Greek philosophy,modern European philosophy,modern western Whitehead’s "organism philosophy" and Bergson’s "life philosophy".On the other hand,he also knows about different kinds of cultures,especially his study of aesthetic ideas.East and America have expressed some fruitful views on art and poetry,and his poetry is also loved by teachers and friends.These all reflect the commonality of Thome Fang’s thought and personality.The thought of cultural communication is the main form of Thome Fang’s philosophical thought.In fact,cultural communication is not an illogical exposition,but has its philosophical metaphysical basis.For Thome Fang,the cultural communication has always revolved around the philosophy of life,focusing on the generation and development of the universe from the highest life ontology and the highest life state,and viewing life as a value ontology.In order to discuss Thome Fang’s thought of cultural communication,this paper discusses relevant issues from three major parts,five chapters in total,and there are close links between the chapters.Specifically,the first chapter is the introduction of the background and the main idea of the Thome Fang cultural communication of the other party,mainly discussing the significance and value of the Thome Fang cultural communication of the other party.During the period of "Western learning spreading eastward" in modern times,China’s traditional knowledge system has undergone great changes,and the traditional knowledge has gradually changed into a modern knowledge system with natural science,humanities and social science as the main body.This knowledge transformation has profoundly affected the process of China’s modernization,but it has also led to the disappearance of the subjective consciousness of traditional culture.In this background,Thome Fang rethinks the transformation of traditional Chinese philosophy and presents the highest ideal of cultural communication by creating an ideal blueprint for the development of human culture;The second,the third and the fourth chapters respectively investigate Thome Fang’s thought of cultural communication from the perspective of Chinese and Western,ancient and modern three religions,mainly discuss the value significance of Thome Fang’s life ontology and the highest life ontology,and present Thome Fang’s thought of cultural communication completely.In the field of liberal arts and science,Thome Fang advocates the construction of a philosophical system in an inclusive way,especially focusing on integrating the achievements of modern scientific development into the cultural system,so as to form a new cultural system that transcends the liberal arts and science disciplines and integrates emotion and reason.In terms of Chinese and Western philosophy,Thome Fang reviewed and analyzed the gains and losses of three life philosophy spirits:ancient Greek philosophy,modern European philosophy and Chinese philosophy.He believes that the spirit of life in ancient Greece has important value for the reconstruction of the spirit of Chinese life philosophy,especially the spirit of "tragedy" in ancient Greece can supplement the lack of the spirit of Chinese life philosophy and save the decline of Chinese philosophy.On the relationship between Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism,Thome Fang advocates the concept of equality among the three religions,he believes that the spirit of Chinese philosophy is reflected in the convergence of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism,and the purpose of the three churches is to achieve the promotion of human spirit.The fifth chapter reflects and examines the thought of cultural communication from the perspective of theoretical interpretation,and reveal the basic principles,methods and discuss its theoretical significance and contemporary value.Through this study,we believe that the reason why Thome Fang can show the spirit of cultural communication is that,on the one hand,it is an inherent manifestation of Chinese traditional culture.Thome Fang is deeply influenced by traditional culture,and naturally has the attribute of cultural communication;On the other hand,cultural communication is also Thome Fang’s attempt and effort to actively explore the modern transformation of traditional culture.In the process of "western learning spreading eastward",Chinese traditional culture seems to have lost its subjective spirit.It is precisely out of this anxiety that Thome Fang tried to find the basis for the transformation of Chinese traditional culture.Therefore,it can be seen that cultural communication is not only the basis for the modern transformation of Chinese traditional culture,but also the future prospect of human cultural development.Specifically,Thome Fang’s idea of cultural communication includes three dimensions.First,the trend of human culture development.In the face of the increasingly refined status of modern disciplines and specialties,the problem oriented cultural development model that breaks through barriers between disciplines has become more and more mainstream;Second,the inherent requirements of life itself.Life philosophy is one of the core issues concerned by modern Chinese philosophy circles.Life philosophy takes life as its philosophical noumenon,and pluralism and communication are the basic characteristics of life;Third,cultural communication is the unique spirit of Chinese philosophy.Thome Fang believes that the theory of bypass and unification,the theory of Tao and the theory of personality superelevation are the common characteristics of Chinese philosophy,and they are all descriptions of the highest ontology of Chinese metaphysics.Cultural communication is a specific expression of the Chinese traditional thinking mode of "harmony between nature and man",whose purpose is to integrate the three religions of China and the West,ancient and modern.The reason why Thome Fang proposed the idea of communication is actually to solve the problem of "duality" of western culture.Whether between subject and object,phenomenon and noumenon,or between mind and object,western philosophy always has a "duality" opposition,forming a fragmented universe picture.Chinese philosophy provides a good paradigm to solve this contradiction,especially the integration of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism provides a model and reference for the discussion of cultural communication,which is also an opportunity for the modern transformation of Chinese philosophy. |
