Red film has a special historical position in the history of Chinese film development. It reflects the arduous revolutionary struggle carried out by the Communist Party of China in establishing the People’s Republic of China, and shoulders the historical mission of promoting the spirit of patriotism and uniting the strength of China. It is an ideological weapon for shaping the national spirit, establishing revolutionary beliefs, and transmitting revolutionary ideas, which is conducive to guiding the audience to establish a correct view of history, nation, country and culture.Metaphor,as the basic way of human cognitive thinking,is common in our daily life, our thoughts and actions. Our thoughts and actions are metaphorical in nature.Metaphor is essentially a tool to understand the world, and perceive the formation of concepts. The research on the metaphor of red films is essentially to explain how these films use metaphorical artistic language to express ideology,so as to play the mainstream ideological dissemination function of the films and strengthen the leading role of socialist ideology in the film market. This research has important practical significance at present.Case analysis, comparative study and historical analysis methods are adopted in this paper to explore the red film as an ideological text to achieve the transmission of ideology through metaphor from the perspective of film ontology.First, the paper summarizes the theoretical research results of metaphor and film metaphor. In theoretical research, previous studies on film metaphor are based on modern film theory, and this paper reviews the research results of film metaphor in different theoretical periods starting from the classic film theory. It expounds the metaphorical context in red films.Context is the premise and foundation of metaphor generation, which not only restricts the construction of metaphor but also affects the understanding of metaphor. The metaphor generation in red films is mainly influenced by cultural context, theoretical context and policy context. These three factors jointly restrict the generation of metaphor in red films.Based on context generation, this paper analyzes metaphorical texts from the perspectives of narrative texts and audio-visual languages.Narrative metaphor mainly includes theme metaphor, character metaphor, ritual metaphor and etc.The theme metaphor uses "revolution + love" as a metaphor for the choice of the revolutionary path,"revolution + growth" for the growth of the country in the growth of individuals, and "revolution + youth" for the blood and fight in the revolutionary struggle.Figure metaphor is centered on body metaphor, and the body has become an important tool of political speech through ideological coding.Ritual metaphor constructs revolutionary beliefs, national identity and revolutionary spirit through torture, celebrations, and speeches,etc.Audio-visual metaphor mainly involves color metaphor, object metaphor, dialogue metaphor, audio metaphor, and musical metaphor.Color metaphor adopts black, white and red as the main themes to express specific meanings.Object metaphor uses poetic, emotional and symbolic objects to express the future and power of the revolution.Dialogue metaphor refers to the character and behavior of revolutionaries by means of imitation and pun.Musical metaphor renders revolutionary enthusiasm and revolutionary ideals in a revolutionary romanticism style.Audio metaphor expresses the cruelty and brutality of the war.It summarizes the artistic generation mode of red movie metaphor and the characteristics of ontological metaphor.Art generation mainly includes repetition,contrast,close-up and poeticization. The ontological characteristics of metaphor show that there are great differences in the presentation of metaphorical ontology in different historical periods. The figurative feature of metaphors is the homogeneity of the metaphoric signifier, and the high homogeneity is directly related to the particularity of the revolutionary film itself. |
