| After more than 20 years of development,Chinese online novels have become mature in culture and skills,which has brought a large number of classic work s with high cultural value to Chinese literature.The research community should turn its vision from simple market and media research to the research of culture and literature of online novels.Traditional culture is an important link in China’s current cultural construction.Fantasy novel is the genre most closely related to traditional culture in network novels.From the perspective of literary inheritance,it inherits ancient Taoist fantasy novels and draws lessons from modern and contemporary swordsman and martial arts novels.It is the product of Chinese fantasy literary tradition in the network era;From the perspective of cultural continuity,it takes Taoist culture as the core and widely combines other cultures,so as to not only meet the deep psychology of the Chinese nation,but also keep pace with the times and create cultural influence.Aiming at the development of Chinese traditional culture in the new era,this study summarizes the Taoist cultural content in fantasy novels into four key words.These four are divided into two groups,based on the core and extension of culture.The literary imagination condensed by Taoist Fairy Fantasy in online novels can be summarized as two key words:"cultivation" and "obtaining Tao".It is not only the two core themes of fantasy novels,but also the key symbol why it has become a new genre.In the network fantasy novels,these two themes also have a new narrative structure different from the past fantasy novels:folding narrative.Folding narrative is a unique narrative structure after fantasy novels become mature.It is composed of multiple "functional modules".Each functional module undertakes a specific narrative function and jointly forms a group of narrative cycles.Multiple groups of narrative links can form super long novels.Fantasy novels create six functional modules through two core themes.Under the theme of "cultivation",the fantasy novel arranges three modules:"seeking immortalsentering the mountain","Cultivation-obtaining treasure" and "test-choice".Under the theme of "gaining Tao",the fantasy novel arranges three modules:Crisis-retrograde,gaining Tao-becoming immortal and flying-transition.These six modules have a corresponding relationship with ancient Taoist novels and Taoist philosophy.Among them,the modules of "seeking immortals-entering the mountain" and "Cultivation-gaining treasure" are common modules in Chinese fantasy novels.Fantasy novels draw nutrition from Chinese traditional literature,which does not contain moral requirements.The modules of "test choice" and "gaining Tao becoming immortal" and "crisis retrograde" are common modules in ancient Taoist novels.Fantasy novels draw fantasy elements,philosophical thoughts and moral concepts from Taoist culture,which contains strong moral requirements.The module of "soaring-transition" is unique to the network fantasy novels.It provides a series of urgently needed commercial functions of contemporary popular novels,and plays a role in folding the narrative structure.Just because the fantasy novel takes Taoist culture as the core,it also inherits the moral requirements attached to Taoist culture.The moral system in fantasy novels is not secular morality,but literary morality based on Fairy Fantasy."Xianxia" and "Honghuang" are the two schools most closely related to Taoist culture among the major schools of fantasy novels,which are enough to become the two representatives of Taoist culture in the Chinese imagination of online novels.Among them,fairy Xia novels are the most direct embodiment of Taoist Fairy Fantasy,and they are also the inheritors of fairy stories and fairy and demon novels in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.Xianxia novels are not a first-class genre independent of fantasy novels,but a large school within fantasy novels.The research of Xianxia keyword has three dimensions:cultural source,world structure and value system.From the perspective of cultural source,it has the core of Taoist culture,inherits the literary tradition of ancient Chinese fantasy literature,ancient myths and legends and modern and contemporary martial arts novels,and forms a fairy fantasy novel integrating Chinese traditional cultural resources.From the perspective of world structure,it borrows Taoist fantasy literature to create a pan ancient fairy Xia fictional world shared by many novels.From the perspective of value system,it transforms the three important values often involved in other popular literary categories,and shapes a value system with Taoist life philosophy as the core.Honghuang’s novels renovate ancient myths in the way of Taoist immortal words,which is the highest achievement of myth rewriting novels in Chinese literature.The study of Honghuang keyword has three dimensions:school evolution,world structure and cultural characteristics.From the perspective of genre evolution,Honghuang novels were born in myth rewriting creation,rose in commercial follow-up behavior,and matured in the fierce competition in the multi platform market.From the perspective of world structure,Honghuang novel has created a large-scale world system comparable to the well-known foreign commercial fictional world,including detailed characters,main plot,time and space structure,which provides great convenience for novel creation and cultural promotion.From the perspective of cultural characteristics,Honghuang novels have the advantages of peer novels,and there is no hidden danger of copyright of general peer novels,so they become popular rapidly.However,its unique creative mechanism and popularity have brought hidden worries about cultural homogenization. |
