Abstract/Summary:
With the increasing emphasis on ecological protection, the use of traditional chemical pesticides to kill agricultural and forestry pests will cause serious environmental pollution and induce the "3R" problem. It is an important task to discover parasitic wasp resources that can be used for biological control of agricultural and forestry pests. The vast majority of species under the subfamily Entedoninae live a parasitoid lifestyle, that is,lay eggs on or in the host insect, and the larvae feed on the host insect, which eventually leads to the death of the host insect. It is a high-quality biological control resource with potential utilization value. The purpose of this study is to preliminarily investigate the distribution of the species under subfamily Entedoninae in China, enrich the potential parasitic wasp resources and biodiversity in China, and provide basics for the biological control of agricultural and forestry pests in China. The taxonomic study on Entedoninae from China was based on about 1500 specimens(including about 300 on slides and 460 on cards),which were the collection from Insect Collection of NEFU or collected by myself and lab members using sweeping, yellow pan trapping and Malaise trapping. The dissertation describes all the species identified in this study, including 15 genera,71 species and 1 species complex, among which including 4 new record genera to China,23 new species, and 24 new record species to China. In preparation methods of the specimens, with a detailed introduction of a new method to make slide specimens, which using ultraviolet gum as mounting medium.4 new record genera to China: Euderomphale Walker,Horismenus Walker,Mestocharis F(?)rster and Pleurotroppopsis Girault.23 new species: Achrysocharoides chongqingensis sp.nov.,Asecodes bicarinatum sp.nov.,Asecodes longiventris sp.nov.,Asecodes medogense Li & Li,Asecodes nigrisetae sp.nov.,Asecodes xizangense sp.nov.,Closterocerus rectisulcus Li & Li,Closterocerus separatus Li & Li,Closterocerus shaanxiensis Li & Li,Closterocerus unifasciatus Li & Li,Entedon flavifemur sp.nov.,Euderomphale heijiensis sp.nov.,Omphale longigena sp.nov.,Omphale longitarsus sp.nov.,Omphale parvula sp.nov.,Omphale rectisulcus sp.nov.,Omphale xanthosoma sp.nov.,Parzaommomyia fuscus sp.nov.,Parzaommomyia flavisulcus sp.nov.,Pediobius hainanensis sp.nov.,Pediobius huanglianensis sp.nov.,Pediobius longifuniculus sp.nov.and Pediobius subquadratus sp.nov..24 new record species to China: Asecodes reticulatum(Kamijo),Chrysocharis arctica(Erd(?)s),Chrysocharis nitetis(Walker),Chrysonotomyia germanica(Erd(?)s),Closterocerus javanus Perkins,Entedon albifemur Kamijo,Entedon crassiscapus Erd(?)s,Entedon nomizonis Kamijo,Euderomphale chelidonii Erd(?)s,Horismenus specularis Erd(?)s,Mestocharis bimacularis(Dalman),Neochrysocharis beasleyi Fisher & La Salle,Omphale brevibuccata Szelényi,Omphale connectens Graham,Omphale melina Yefremova & Kriskovich,Omphale obscura(F(?)rster),Pediobius aeneus(Girault),Pediobius alaspharus(Walker),Pediobius antiopa(Girault),Pediobius bifoveolatus(Ashmead),Pediobius flaviscapus(Thomson),Pediobius moldavicus Bou(?)ek,Pediobius tenuicornis Graham and Pleurotroppopsis japonica(Kamijo). The dissertation also provides the keys to the Chinese genera and species under subfamily Entedoninae, and the list of known species of Entedoninae from China.Morphological characteristics photos of the species involved in this dissertation are also provided to reference in subsequent related researches.
