China’s socio-economics and urbanization construction has developed rapidly since the reform and opening up.The rate of urbanization,leading industries,and living standards of the people have continuously been improved.Due to the rapid expansion of urban scale,there has been a significant decrease of construction land.Consequently,construction demolition and renewal have become a popular trend in urban development.The ensuing problem of construction waste disposition has become a focus of social awareness,and how to efficiently and environmentally handle large quantities of construction waste is key to achieving sustainable development.Therefore,in-depth discussions have been launched in the field of construction waste management,which mainly explore the distribution of benefits and technical collaboration among agents by game theory,or analyze the causality and emission prediction of regional construction waste by econometric models.The concept of circular economy is gradually extended into the field of construction waste,it has become an important obstacle to social sustainable development due to the issues of improving resource utilization efficiency of construction waste,promoting the cooperation of resource technology,and optimizing the allocation of resources remain unresolved.In practice,there are many stakeholders involved in the process of construction waste resource utilization,establishing primary collaborative relationships through technical interaction,information transfer,and business dealings,which forms a collaborative network with tightly coupled characteristics.Accordingly,how to clarify the network relationship and collaboration mechanism existing in the process of construction waste resource utilization through network theory and circular economy theory has become an urgent issue in the field of waste management.To solve the aforementioned challenges,the paper focuses on the understanding of the core connotations and the concepts of the construction waste resource utilization network.Meanwhile,the research methods such as structural equation model,qualitative comparative analysis and system dynamics model are used to pair logic of construction waste resource utilization under the development goal of "zero waste city".On the one hand,we clarify the current status of the construction waste network and resource utilization network in China,and reveal the mechanism of multi-principal collaboration in the construction waste resource utilization network.On the other hand,it explores the influence of different factors on the construction waste resource utilization network under different scenarios,and establishes an improvement framework for the enhancement of multi-agent collaboration in China’s construction waste resource utilization network.Specifically,four aspects of contents are involved.Firstly,a study regarding the characterization of construction waste resource utilization networks was carried out.It defines the concept of construction waste resource utilization network according to the sustainable development theory,resource orchestration theory and synergistic theory,as and investigates the constituent elements,the characteristics of the elements,and the relationship between the elements of the construction waste resource utilization network.Then,the macro,meso and micro structural characteristics of the construction waste resource utilization network are analyzed based on the social network theory.In addition,the dynamics and vulnerability of regional construction waste resource utilization networks are examined,so as to bridge the gap between the existing research and the actual situation.Academically,it further depths the awareness and understanding of the construction waste resource utilization network.Practically,it can help the government and resource utilization subjects to recognize the essentiality and importance of multi-subject collaboration,which in turn guides the collaborative practice of construction waste resource utilization.Secondly,the intrinsic mechanism of multi-agent cooperation in the construction waste resource utilization network was also investigated.It identifies the critical factors affecting multi-agent cooperation by conducting a systematic review of relevant literature and industry reports and by incorporating expert interview comments.Hypothesizing the existence of linear and non-linear relationships among factors to construct a framework for analyzing the mechanisms of multi-agent cooperation,according to both the subject and process perspective.Then,the study utilized Smart PLS 4.0 software to implement hypothesis validation and perform necessity and qualitative comparative analyses to reveal the mechanisms by which "configuration" influence collaboration.The results capture the mechanism of multi-agent cooperation in the construction waste resource utilization network from the industry perspective and the enterprise perspective,revealing the path and mechanism of influence on factors in the environment,organization and subject.Thirdly,a system dynamics analysis of multi-agent cooperation in construction waste resource utilization networks was conducted.Realization of system dynamics modeling through delineation of system boundaries,causal loop diagrams and system flow stock diagrams.Meanwhile,Anylogic software is used to realize the simulation and parameter setting by composing Java code.Sensitivity analysis is performed by setting up different scenarios of external environment,agent aspect and the organizational capability.The results clarify the mechanism of multi-agent cooperation in construction waste resource utilization network,reveal the influence path of influencing factors and its combinations on multi-agent collaboration,and provide a platform for reconstructing improvement strategy.Finally,the improvement strategy framework of construction waste resource utilization network with multi-agent cooperation is constructed by process perspective and agent perspective.It provides targeted improvement strategies on incentives,monitoring,technology and property rights from the construction industry.The result shows that improvement strategies are constructed from four dimension: environment,agent,industry and technology,with a view to improving the efficiency of resource utilization and providing a theoretical basis for advancing social sustainable development.Drawing on the above results,not only enrich the theoretical system of construction waste management research,but also reveal the mechanism of multi-agent cooperation in construction waste resource utilization network.It bridges the gap of existing research on the cooperation mode of cross-industry agents and its driving mechanism.Combining theoretical analysis,empirical research and simulation studies,this paper could deepen the understanding of multiagent cooperation in the field of construction waste management.It also puts forward policy recommendations to effectively promote resource utilization,as well as provides practical guidelines for governments,enterprises,and other stakeholders to promote social sustainable development.
