A Research On The Economic And Trade Cooperation Between China And Russia

As the oil price keeps rising in the world, since the 21st century, Russia's economy has growed rapidly. However, could the only driving force continue? As a big country in the world, Russia hasn't joined the WTO. The role it will play in the economic globalization in the future determines its position--as a powerful economic entity or in a subordinate position as a supplier of energy materials-- in the world economic system. Putin, the Rsussia's prime minister is deeply influenced by the eastern and western cultures. Therefore, the polices in domestic and foreign affairs of Russia will pay much attention to relations between the west and east. Whether Russia can rise and play a significant role on the global stage will affect the world Multi-polarization.There are five parts of ten chapters in this paper and it analyses the relation of the economy and trade between China and Russia.The first part consists of the first five chapters. Chapter 1 introduces the background of this topic and its related research findings. Chapter 2 introduces the theory of international trade and cooperation. It includes the theory of trade and development strategy thought by Albarkin and self-organization theory of Bogdanov. Chapter 3 discusses the realistic foundation of trade and cooperation between China and Russia. It shows their advantages and characteristics of their market structure and demand. This chapter analyses the politic relations, economic development strategy, complementarities in economy and geographical relations between the two countries. Chapter 4 studies Russia's economic policies toward China. Chapter 5 discusses the development of Sino-Russian economic and trade relations.Part 2 consists of chapter 6 and chapter 7. Chapter 6 analyses the evolution of the mutual investment between China and Russia. It mainly introduces two periods: 1949-1991 and 1992-2000. Chapter 7 discusses the problems of Sino-Russian economic and trade cooperation.1. Joint investment projects between China and Russia are less than normal, the areas of investment assemble.2. The scale of bilateral trade is small, while the structure of the import and export products is too single.3. Trade orders and systems are still not standardized. 4. Cooperation between China's coastal areas and Russia is to be improved.This part proposes methods to the above problems.The third part, namely chapter 8 is as follows:chapter 8 puts forward some suggestions to the trade and cooperation between China and Russia. The proposals include the following:1. Discuss the new areas in which China and Russia cooperate with each other.2. Further promote the cooperation and development of trade between the two countries. Exploit new energy, explore new appropriate modes, and foster a new main body of economy and trade between China and Russia.3. Suggestions to promote cooperation and development of trade and economy between Russia and China. Cooperation of trade and economy between governments should be strengthened and logistics operation ability at border should be promoted.The fourth part(chapter 9) is as following:chapter 9 analyses the prospect of cooperation and development of economy and trade between China and Russia. China and Russia are each other's largest neighbour, and their political, economic and other development has a strong complementarity. It is significant for the study of Russia's development.This chapter analyses the influence of the industrial restructuring, developing trend of Russia's economy and change of the world environment on Sino-Russian economic and trade relations. It believes that the foundation of Sino-Russian cooperation will get better. The adjacent areas will depend on each other more and there will be more potentials for the cooperation.The last part makes the conclusion. The Sino-Russian trade relation has a long history and it's developed rapidly recently. Both countries advocate the establishment of a multi-polar pattern. This paper studies and analyses the problems related to Sino-Russian economic and trade relations. It makes a generate conclusion based on the systematic study.With the development of the social economy, Sino-Russian economic and trade strategy has been established. It has been the main factor to promote the economic and trade development. Future will prove it a correct decision and it will improve Sino-Russian economic and trade relations in the 21st century.
