A Study On The Formation Mechanism And Effects Of Labor Market Distortion In China

Labor market distortion is a typical feature of China's market-oriented reforms,which is mainly reflected in labor allocation distortion and labor price distortion.As a key factor in the factor market,labor is an important link connecting other factors of production.Knowledge,technology and management elements are attached to labor,while capital,land and data elements can only be activated and operated through labor.Therefore,the allocation distortion and price distortion of labor market will inevitably have a negative impact on the configuration and operation of the whole factor market.The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly regards the improvement of market-oriented allocation of factors as one of the key tasks of China's economic system reform,and takes the realization of free flow of factors and flexible price response as the main goal of the market-oriented reform of factors in the future,which means that deepening the market-oriented reform of labor force has risen to the height of national strategy.In this context,it is of great theoretical value and practical significance to explore the formation mechanism of labor market distortion and its economic and social effects for improving the socialist market economic system and realizing high-quality economic and social development.The research ideas of this paper are as follows: Firstly,by systematically summarizing the theories and literatures about labor market distortion,this paper summarizes the endogenous factors and policy-induced factors of labor market distortion,and then explores the theoretical mechanism of the formation of labor market distortion in China.By systematically combing the evolution process of China's labor market distortion,this paper summarizes the characteristics of labor market distortion in different stages,and then explores the evolution process of China's labor market distortion.By measuring the degree of China's labor market distortion and based on provincial data,this paper uses fixed effect model and dynamic panel model to empirically the institutional factors that influence the labor market distortion,and then explores the realistic factors that cause China's labor market distortion.Secondly,based on the data of cities,enterprises and individuals,using the quantile regression model,mediating effect model,panel threshold model,ordered probability model and other measurement methods,from the perspective of productivity effect,innovation effect and entrepreneurship effect,this paper empirically investigate the economic effect and mechanism of labor market distortion.Thirdly,based on the micro survey data,this paper empirically investigates the social effect effect and mechanism of labor market distortion from the perspectives of residents' class identity and happiness by using the ordered probability model and the two-stage least square model.Finally,according to the research conclusions,this paper gives some suggestions on the reform of labor market.Based on the above ideas,the specific research framework is as follows:The first chapter is the introduction.This chapter clarifies the research background and significance of the paper,and discusses the relevant concepts,research methods,research ideas and innovation points in the paper.The second chapter is the theoretical basis and related literature review.In terms of theoretical basis,this study mainly sorts out the theoretical logic of the formation of labor market distortions from the following two aspects:(1)Marx's thought of labor market segmentation,Marx's labor mobility theory and labor wage theory.(2)The theoretical thoughts of various schools of western economics on labor market distortion.Literature review is mainly carried out from three aspects:(1)Factors influencing the labor market distortion.By reviewing the existing literature,this paper summarizes the endogenous and policy-induced factors of labor market distortions.(2)Economic effect of labor market distortion.It mainly includes literature on "productivity effect","technological innovation effect" and "employment effect" of labor market distortion.(3)Social effect of labor market distortion.It mainly includes literature on the impact of market-oriented reforms and labor market distortions on social classThe third chapter mainly analyzes the historical evolution and formation mechanism of labor market distortion in China.Firstly,this paper sorts out the evolution of China's labor market reform after the reform and opening up,and explores the key points of relevant policies as well as the temporal changes of labor allocation distortion and price distortion.Secondly,this paper measures the degree of labor market distortion in China by means of production function method and marketization index method,and analyzes the regional characteristics and changing trend of labor market distortion in China.Finally,the paper analyzes the special institutional factors of labor market distortion in China from the perspectives of government growth target management and catch-up behavior,official promotion incentive,household registration system and the dual function orientation of labor union,and makes an empirical test with macroscopic provincial data.The fourth chapter is the economic effect of labor market distortion.Firstly,this paper examines the productivity effect of labour market distortion.Based on the panel data of Chinese cities,this paper empirically tests the effect and mechanism of labor market distortion on total factor productivity at the city level.Secondly,this paper examines the innovation effects of labor market distortion.Based on the data of Chinese listed companies,this paper empirically tests the effect and mechanism of labor market distortion on firm innovation at the firm level.Finally,this paper examines the innovation effect of labor market distortion.Using the data of the China Labor-force Dynamics Survey(CLDS),this paper empirically tests the effect and mechanism of labor market distortion on residents' entrepreneurial activities from the perspective of individuals.The fifth chapter is the social effect of labor market distortion.The paper mainly measures the change of social class by the change of residents' class identity and indirectly measures the level of social welfare by residents' happiness,and investigates the social effect of labor market distortion from these two perspectives.Based on theoretical analysis,this paper empirically tests the effect and mechanism of labor market distortion on residents' class identity and happiness using the data of China Labor-force Dynamics Survey(CLDS).The sixth chapter is the research conclusion and related policy suggestions.
