Since the end of the last century, China has opened enrollment of higher education once again. In the ten years, the scale of higher education has expanded rapidly. At the end of the year 2007, higher education enrollment rate has reached 23%. The paradox is that, along with the rapid expansion of Higher Education and Higher Education opportunities for significant, people are getting a strong sense of inequity. Higher inequality is just a subjective feeling of people or a social reality that already exists? If it is a social fact, it has what performance? Why? what kind of role does the existing social structure in the formation process of the social fact of play? What kind impact does the social reality have in the process of the changing social structure? Based on this awareness of the problem, using the sociological point of view and empirical analysis,we studied the relationship between the social structure and the structure of higher education,studied the result of the diversion of higher education, and studied higher education's role in social mobility.Thrugh the empirical analysis, we found that the social structure has a great impact on the structure of higher education. More students from the city into the 211 engineering schools and 985 colleges, and students from rural areas into the general undergraduate major institutions.At the same time, more students from rural areas have been into the practical, strong operational and science majors in engineering, and students from the city have been into the liberal arts. University of gender in access to different types of weakened areas, only in 985 engineering colleges, the proportion of girls is also lower than boys. In the professional choice, male choice of the male-dominated type of engineering majors, while women are more choices of women-oriented liberal arts majors.The students from the top parts of social structure have advantages not only of the level of higher school, but also of top professional, and this advantage has continued to expand.With the arrival of educated society in the context of higher education increasing, the influence of horizontal degree to graduated destination increases hardly. Thus, the diversion of higher education has become a new mechanism of social differentiation. To enter prestigious universities, majoring in practical strong professional school for getting a better fate has a positive meaning. Social structure, especially social class structure affects movement of college graduates graduate, graduates from which social class destination of its graduates have a greater impact. As advantaged social groups in higher education opportunities of the great advantages of school, they graduated in almost every aspect of an advantage whereabouts, and fate in a better school advantages become more pronounced. From the lower strata of society, graduates of the whereabouts of almost every aspect of school at a disadvantage, even in the poor graduation same is true whereabouts.Social structure as a hidden force, an "invisible hand ", and graduated from the movement of higher education opportunities to play both a strong regulatory role, but the role of this constraint is limited. Correspondingly, higher education's role in social mobility is certain limited. On the one hand, higher education in promoting the role of social mobility is limited; the other hand, the social structure of higher education in the reproduction and hinder the role of social mobility is not unlimited.
