A Study On Xi Jinping’s Important Exposition On The Party’s Political Building

In the report at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China（CPC）,General Secretary Xi Jinping unprecedentedly proposed the scientific thesis of “taking enhancing the Party’s political building as the overarching principle”,“giving top priority to the political work of the Party”.The proposal of the scientific thesis was based on the viewpoint that the world is undergoing major changes unseen in a century,also based on the profound changes of the conditions of the Party and the nation as well as the severe challenges and tests faced.It is from the strategic perspective of consolidating the longterm ruling position of the Party and realizing the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation that General Secretary Xi Jinping raised the scientific thesis with thorough consideration and scientific judgment on how to further promote strict self-governance in every respect in the new era and how to continuously keep the party competent.The Party’s political building is of fundamental importance to the Party as it affects the future and destiny of the Party and the nation,as well as the development of the cause.Concerning the political work of the Party,General Secretary Xi Jinping has issued a series of important expositions,developed many new viewpoints and propositions,and made a series of major decisionmaking arrangements and strategic deployments.In addition,he managed to address the major issue of the times,that is,“Why should strengthen the Party’s political building in the new era? How to do it?”,which has provided a fundamental theoretical basis for the Party’s political building in the new era.Studying Xi Jinping’s important expositions on the Party’s political building in detail and systematically is a necessity to comprehensibly and thoroughly understand his new ideas,new propositions and new theses in this regard and provide fresh ideological and theoretical support for the constant advancement of the Party’s political building work.Considering the above,this thesis starts with the basic principles of Marxism and conducts an in-depth and systematic study of Xi Jinping’s important expositions on the Party’s political building using Marxist standpoints,viewpoints and methods.From the dual perspectives of historical background and individual conditions and combined with the two exploration dimensions of theoretical evolution and practical development,this thesis aims to thoroughly and systematically study the scientific connotation,main contents,basic characteristics and ways of thinking of Xi Jinping’s important expositions thereon,as well as their theoretical value and practical significance,with the goal of exploring the basic theoretical and practical issues behind the expositions.After thorough analysis,this thesis comes to the following six conclusions.First,General Secretary Xi Jinping’s expositions on the Party’s political building were gradually formed under the dual influence of complex historical background and special individual conditions.Second,the expositions have both rich theoretical sources and strong practical foundations.Third,the expositions contain rich scientific connotations and regulative basic principles.Fourth,the expositions encapsulate important contents about the CPC’s political building,including holding a firm political stance as the fundamental principle,grasping the political direction as the prerequisite,cultivating political ecology as a longterm task,implementing the political line as an important guarantee,enhancing political capabilities as the key requirement,and practicing strict political disciplines as the basic norm.These contents constitute a scientific theoretical system with rich connotation,rigorous logic,and profound thinking.Fifth,the expositions highlight the distinctive characteristics of the times and reveal the unique ways of thinking.From the perspective of basic characteristics,they embody the overarching nature of the overall positioning,the serving-the-people nature of the value guidance,the practicality of problem orientation,and the gradualness of the formation process.From the perspective of the ways of thinking,they contain such scientific thinking methods as history,strategy,system,dialectics,innovation,and bottom-line thinking,displaying the distinctive characteristics of Marxist methodology.Sixth,the expositions,as a scientific guideline that steers the CPC’s political building in the new era,is not only of great theoretical value and practical significance for China,but also of important referential value for other countries to strengthen their parties’ political building.
