Research On The Socialist Friendly Values And Its Cultivation

Since the 1980s,with the continuous deepening of China's reform and opening up and social transformation,the social structure has shifted from a traditional �acquaintance� society to a �stranger� society in which public space is expanding continuously.In this new structure,people's lifestyles and interpersonal communication methods have also changed profoundly.Unfriendliness and disharmony between people are on the rise.People call for friendly moral values,but the traditional concept of friendship can hardly suit the present era.Value reconstruction is urgently needed to establish a new type of friendly relationship.In November 2012,the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China included friendship into the basic concept of socialist core values,which is a deep response to this question.How to cultivate and practice socialist friendly values has become an important issue.The appearance of socialist friendly values is a natural result of the times and historical development.The socialist friendly values are rooted in China's essential traditional culture,but the traditional friendly concept of �distinctive love� needs to be further developed with innovation.The Western �fraternity� at its core is bound to be �floating in fantasy� due to its abstraction,hypocrisy and super-class nature,and can only be critically transcended.For this reason,it is necessary to draw resources from Marxist classic thoughts on friendliness,and to seek the construction of socialist friendly values based on Marxist positions and methods.The basic idea for the construction of socialist friendly values is to unify the universality and particularity of friendship,that is,to highlight the essence(quality)of the universality as a public moral and its particularity as an individual emotion.The particularity should be limited to the degree(quantity)of friendliness.In this way,kindness will neither be reduced to abstract morality,nor will it be reduced to hypocrisy;it not only conforms to the requirements of modern public morality,but also conforms to the inherent characteristics of private emotions.According to core socialist values,friendliness,as the normative value on the individual level,serves as the moral cornerstone in promoting core socialist values.The socialist friendly values are composed of four elements: benevolence,respect,tolerance,and mutual assistance.They include four dimensions: interpersonal,social,international and ecological friendliness.It is a brand new friendly value that reflects the essence of socialism as well as the characteristics of the Chinese nation and the time.Of course,such friendly values are not unconditional obedience and satisfaction to everyone and everything.Friendly relationships and helping others should be of a reasonable degree.They must follow the principles of legitimacy and appropriateness,and maintain the common moral standards and ethical order of society.It is the inherent requirements of socialist friendly values.The central topic of this paper is to answer the question of �why�,that is,why do we cultivate such new friendly values? Why are we friendly to strangers? From the perspective of Marx's historical materialism,social existence determines social consciousness.Any consciousness is a conscious existence,thus people's moral consciousness is the representation of the concept of social life style.Furthermore,people's survival mode and existence form determine the way people interact with each other.Therefore,the social existence of people is the basis for the existence of friendly communication,and the social existence in China today determines the inevitable trend of humanity toward goodness.This thesis attempts to replace the �substantialism� thinking with �relationalism� thinking through the dialogue,convergence and fusion of Chinese traditional philosophy,Western philosophy and Marxist philosophy,to establish a �true community� and to find a friendly theoretical basis from the ontological perspective;to replace �abstract people� with �real people�,based on �human needs�,and seek the theoretical basis of friendly values from the perspective of human nature theory.Finally,this thesis attempts to explore the field,path,method and mechanism of the cultivation of socialist friendly values.The original social organism no longer exist,and we urgently need to rebuild the social organism,especially to enrich the living space at the grassroots level,construct a new trinity of �family,school,and society� cultivation space,and provide a realistic field and realization path for the cultivation of socialist friendly values.At the same time,in addition to incentive and guarantee systems,it is necessary to construct effective cultivation methods through the employment of media,culture and good examples.
