This dissertation discusses the communication situation between northeasternborderland minorities and Han's people from a cross-subject and cross-field point of view. Ingeneral, this is a comprehensive topic based on the research of northeastern local history,research of Chinese ancient history and research of Chinese ancient culture and borderlandminorities. Moreover, it needs more resources and references as in cultural history, people'shistory, social history and archeological science to offer a comparatively specific and vividdisplay.Divided by ethnic groups, many minorities are active in northeast China in the HanDynasty: Sushen ethnic lines: Zhen Fan, Lou Yi; Huimo ethnic lines: Hui, Mo, Buyeo,Goguryeo, Okjeo; Hu Dong ethnic lines: Donghu, Xianbei, Wuhuan and so on.In the long process of history times, these ancient peoples rooted in the northeastern areaand developed to a group of strong peoples who in the mean time created a characterizedlocal culture. The cultural communication has kept on going between the minorities andHan's people since then. Both sides did an enormous contribution to the growth and blossomof Chinese culture. This dissertation aims to find out the inner logic and connection behindthis cultural phenomenon, in the hoping of figuring out the mind pattern of culturalcommunication and melting process, looking into the historical significance and making aslice of devotion into this unfamiliar field if possible.The main contents of this thesis include the following six sections:Chapter one is introduction, exploring the historical background, research significance,current situation of research and definition of certain terms.Chapter two is the people's fusion of northeastern area in Han Dynasty. The important ofthis part is the habitat, migration and population flow to give a clear picture of the fusioncondition in the whole along with the historical significance of this process towards theregional development in northeastern China.Chapter three is the material and cultural communication. Based on the exploration ofborderland minorities and Han's material and cultural communication, a further analysis ismade that the general trend of material and culture of minorities by the influence of Han.Chapter four is the cultural communication of systems. This part explores the socialstatus of borderland minorities and analyzes the content of political policies and theinfluences and discusses the level of northeastern area's system culture in Han dynasty. Chapter five is the spiritual communication of borderland minorities. It begins with thedevelopment of all the borderland minorities and analyzes the influences upon spiritual leveland explores the leading cultural development in northeast area.Chapter six is the folk communication between the borderland minorities and Han. Thispart begins with the specific phenomena and features of folk cultures and analyzes thereasons of the differences between the two and in the end discusses the melting trend of thetwo folk cultures.
