Bone metastasis is a common metastatic outcome of malignant tumor.Once bone metastasis occurs,patients are at the risk of skeletal-related events,meanwhile their survivals and quality of life are significantly affected.Early,timely and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment is the key to improve the prognosis.However,at present,the related clinical work faces many obstacles,such as the lack of effective clinical information,the failure of multi-disciplinary collaborative mode,and obvious regional differences in diagnosis level.At present,the rapid progress of artificial intelligence in the field of medicine,especially in big data analysis and image recognition,providing the possibility to solve the above problems.Based on the technology of artificial intelligence,especially the big data and image recognition,a database and automatic image recognition system of bone metastasis were constructed during our study.In the research of special disease database,we have realized the automatic collection,sorting,storage,structural export and real-time update of the real data generated in the clinical process of patients with bone metastasis.At present,it is continuing to explore the data mining and dynamic analysis.In the research of intelligent image recognition,we have realized the system model construction that can diagnose and evaluate the spinal metastasis tumor from five imaging characteristics: tumor location,tumor quality properties(osteolytic,osteogenic,mixed),vertebral collapse,posterolateral involvement,spinal dislocation.The preliminary application indicated that the database and image recognition system had fine clinical value and broad medical prospect.In a word,we start from two different AI scenarios to explore the clinical application of bone metastasis,which well integrating the clinical demands and existing technical advantages.Our results provide new ideas and directions for the practical application of AI in medicine.
