In recent years, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging has been playing important roles in diagnosis and evaluation of acute myocardial infarction, and T1 mapping,as a pulse sequence which is able to characterize T1 value,is an important part in cardiac magnetic resonance imaging in spite of some limitation.Texture analysis is a branch of image science, and its ability to provide massive texture features has drawn much attention in the field of medical imaging. This study tries to apply texture analysis on native T1 mapping in patients with acute myocardial infarction, exploring its potential value to evaluation of acute myocardial infarction. This study includes two parts:Part? : 71 patients with acute myocardial infarction were retrospectively recruited, area of edema and infarct were defined in T2WI-STIR and late gadolinium enhancement respectively and then aligned to native T1 mapping. Then extract texture features from these areas, and after a series of dimension reduction, assess their ability to distinguish necrotic myocardium from edematous area and make comparison with mean T1 values. The result indicates that in patients without intramyocardial hemorrhage, mean T1 value,Perc?50 and S?30?Sum Averg are able to make such distinction, and AUC of Perc?50 is statistically higher than mean T1 value. And in patients with intramyocardial hemorrhage, mean T1 value is not a predictor, but AUC of Perc?50 and S?20?Sum Entrp are of statically importance.Part?: 26 patients with acute myocardial infarction and with cardiac magnetic resonance imaging performed in both acute and chronic setting were retrospectively recruited, and normal controls of the same number were also included.Area of remote myocardium was defined in T2WI-STIR and aligned to native T1 mapping in patients with myocardial infarction, and the whole myocardium ring was identified as ROI in normal control.Texture features were extracted from ROI and their correlation with cardiac function change, strain change and adverse left ventricular remodeling were assessed after a series of dimension reduction. The result indicates that S?55?Inv Df Mom and RLNon Uni in remote myocardium statistically differed from that in normal control.Wav En LH?s?2 correlated with LVEDV change,S?55?Inv Df Mom,Wav En LL?s?2 and Wav En LH?s?2 had potential correlation with some strain parameters. No correlation was found between mean T1 value and change of LVEF,LVEDV or any strain parameter.None of the texture features in remote myocardium has been found to be a predictor of adverse left ventricular remodeling.
