Forest musk deer(FMD),Moschus berezovskii,is a typical wood inhabit small ruminant, which belongs to the precision feeding animals of nutritional types.FMD feeding assumes the dual tasks of restoring wild FMD population and obtaining traditional Chinese medicine raw material musk. The growth of FMD captive population has been severely restricted due to the long-term high incidence of diseases.Among them,FMD digestive tract diseases are one of the most frequent diseases.Early diagnosis and early treatment have become the key technical issues to be solved in the current breeding of FMD.Due to the high-stress biological characteristics of FMD and difficulty in collecting its tissues samples, which lead to a lack of in-depth research on the digestive tract disease of FMD.What’s more, the current diagnosis of FMD digestive diseases by veterinarians is only by observing the external shape and nature of the FMD feces, the number and frequency of excretion, and action. This has caused many misdiagnosis or untimely diagnosis, making the affected FMD fail to receive timely and accurate treatment. Therefore,it is particularly important to establish a quick and effective method to determine the health status of the digestive tract of FMD.In this thesis,a non-invasive fecal sampling method was employed and integrated fecal morphological characteristics, physiological and immune parameters to obtain valuable research results in the early diagnosis of FMD digestive diseases, which may provide scientific basis for the reintroduction of FMD populations and musk production populations management and protection. The main innovations of this paper are as follows:1.The normal ranges of fecal immunoglobulin, fecal calprotectin and fecal lactoferrin of captive FMD are proposed to be 4251-5583 μg/g,8223-10478 μg/g,and 5000-7511 μg/g,respectively.2.Comparison of the sensitivity results of the selected captive FMD fecal occult blood(FOB)detection method: the Pyramidone test paper is simple without pre-treatment and species-specific restrictions, what’s more the minimum detection limit is 0.05 μl/ml.The positive rate of FOB in FMD was 10.26% based on this method.3.Comprehensive parameters such as fecal morphology, fecal occult blood, immunoglobulin, fecal calprotectin, and fecal lactoferrin of captive FMD,construct an evaluation parameter system for the health status of the digestive system of captive FMD.In this study, the FMD feces were collected by non-invasive method, based on the observing the external morphological characteristics of the feces, occult blood(FOB)testing and the non-invasive ELISA determination of immunoglobulin Ig A,lactoferrin and calprotectin content in the feces of FMD,the reference range of the normal values of each indicator were set up.The evaluation parameter system of the health status of the FMD digestive system was developed by combining the detection indicators selected in this study and current diagnostic techniques and methods for the intestinal diseases of FMD.We believe this system can provide scientific and reasonable evaluation of the intestinal health status of FMD and a scientific basis for FMD’s health monitoring and clinical diagnosis of diseases. |
