Oil & gas field companies are not only large oil and gas producers,but also various resource users.The situation of energy-saving and water-saving in the process of oil and gas production is very grim.Against the background of China's industrial policy that has vigorously enhanced the exploration and development of oil and gas,it is very important to strengthen the study on life-cycle assessment and coordinating management of energy and water use for oil & gas fields.And then it can provide effective support for oil & gas field enterprises to formulate more targeted energy-saving and water-saving measures.The study first elaborates on the related theory of sustainable development,life-cycle and coupled synergy,etc.,and uses those as the theoretical research basis.Secondly,the study builds a comprehensive assessment model based on hybrid life cycle assessment for energy and water use in oil & gas fields,and clarify that the model's research scope includes wellsite preparation,drilling,completion,and production stages.Eleven oil & gas fields in different regions of China are selected as research objects.The study obtains first-hand research data and information through actual investigation and arrangement,and sorts out the energy,water,material,equipment and other material use lists at each stage of the oil & gas field,then calculates direct energy and water use in different stages,as well as the indirect use of energy and water resources with the method of economic input-output life cycle assessment through the input of materials and equipment at different stages.And on this basis,this study calculates the total energy and water use,energy-water intensity,and total energy and water use of different individual oil & gas field.Also,Monte Carlo simulation method is used to simulate and analyze the uncertainty of life cycle energy and water use calculation of a single well in oil & gas fields.Thirdly,the energy and water use coupling coordination model is used to quantitatively analyze the energy and water use coupling coordination degree of 11 oil & gas fields.And the study analyses the energy and water use coupling relationship of each oil & gas field,which provide the basis and support for the coordinating management of energy and water use in oil &gas fields.According to the energy and water use research of 11 oil & gas fields,it is found that the single-well energy use of A oil & gas fields(conventional)is the largest in the whole life cycle,which is 5,599 tons of standard coal,followed by A oil & gas fields(unconventional),with 2,837 tons of standard coal,and the energy use of H Oilfield is the smallest,which is 622 tons of standard coal.The single-well water use of I Oilfield is the largest in the whole life cycle,which is 171,926 cubic meters,followed by the A oil and gas field(conventional),which is 151,572 cubic meters,and the water use of J Oilfield is the smallest,which is 18,341 cubic meters.Through quantitative analysis of the coupling coordination degree of energy and water use coupling of 11 oil & gas fields,it is found that the coupling coordination degree of 11 oil & gas fields is between0.6-0.95.F and J oilfields are lowly coupled and coordinated,A oil & gas fields(conventional),C and G oilfields are moderately coupled and coordinated,B and H oilfields are highly coupled and coordinated,and A oil & gas fields(unconventional),E,D,and I oilfields are higher coupled and coordinated.In addition,the study conducts a dynamic analysis of the coupling degree of different oilfield.It was found that from2008 to 2018 the coordination degree of energy-water coupling of different oilfields fluctuated within a reasonable range.Finally,the study analyzes the energy and water use coordinating management of different types of oil & gas fields,and proposes targeted energy and water use coordinating management recommendations,combined with the current situation of sustainable development of China oil & gas fields,from the perspectives of the key links that affect the energy and water use,the impact of energy and water use at different stages on total energy and water use,and the coupling coordination degree of energy and water use of oil & gas fields.
