| With the expansion of residents’ consumption demand,the resource consumption and environmental pollution caused by residents’ consumption have become more and more serious.The ecological and environmental constraints have seriously inhibited the sustainable development of social economy.Sustainable consumption is considered to be one of the most basic ways to solve the ecological and environmental problems faced by mankind,and is the best choice to achieve a balance between consumption-driven economic growth and environmental friendliness.China has actively promoted more than 100 policies related to sustainable consumption.It is unknown whether it will increase the level of sustainable consumption of urban residents and the gap between achieving sustainable consumption goals.Recognizing the situation and clarifying the gap is the only way to achieve sustainable consumption.However,the current sustainable consumption evaluation research is relatively weak.Therefore,this paper considers the characteristics of typical and representative in megacities,takes 12 megacities as the research object.This paper aims to measure the sustainable consumption level of residents in megacities and clarify the criteria for sustainable consumption.This paper make the assessment of megacities residents’ sustainable consumption with ecological security.First,we measure the level of megacities’ ecological security and clarify the ecological constraints for sustainable consumption from a supply-side perspective.Second,we construct sustainable consumption evaluation indicator system and model for megacity residents from a demand-side perspective.Finally,we judge and analyze the sustainable consumption status based on ecological security.The main contents include:(1)Measurement of the megacities’ ecological security level.Based on the nature-society two-dimensional emergy ecological footprint model,it fully considers the promotion of social economy to the ecosystem,constructs a framework for measuring the ecological security level of megacities,and analyzes it from multiple perspectives of quantity and quality,structure and relationship.Research findings suggest that the ecological carrying capacity of megacities fluctuated dramatically from 2007 to 2016;the contribution of the natural ecological carrying capacity towards the urban ecological carrying capacity is absolute.The ecological security status of megacities is stable,and most megacities are in a state of ecological security and relatively safe conditions.(2)Construction of assessment indicator system and model for sustainable consumption of residents in megacities.Referring to authoritative indicator systems,this paper divides the sustainable consumption assessment indicator system into five criterion layers,namely social economy,natural endowment,consumption quality,environmental quality and protection policy,and 50 indicators are chosen.The correlation-difference analysis and key index screening statutory are used to quantitatively screen out indicators and rational supplementary indicator,retaining 18 indicators.Considering that the characteristics of multiple evaluation objects and multiple time series of dynamic comprehensive evaluation,TOPSIS gray correlation double-benchmark are used to construct an evaluation model.The results indicate that the sustainable consumption level of residents in megacities is rising,but the development is very uneven and presents three typical characteristics,and spatial distribution features progressive decrease from cities of East China to cities of West and Central China.(3)Judgment of the symbiosis and coupling relationship between ecological security and sustainable consumption.Lotka-Volterra symbiosis model is used to quantitatively identify the symbiosis coupling relationship between ecological security and sustainable consumption.The symbiosis coupling degree is used as the property index,and the sustainable consumption evaluation value is used as the degree index.The double characteristic judgment matrix is built to divide the sustainable consumption status.Research results reveal that the symbiosis coupling degree is 1 as a quantitative index for judging whether sustainable consumption is achieved.It is found that the symbiotic relationship between sustainable consumption and ecological security in megacities is changeable,and it is impossible to sustainably achieve ecological security and sustainable consumption mutually beneficial symbiosis model.The sustainable consumption of megacities varies among four statuses,namely healthy,sub-healthy,high-risk and risk.Through the evaluation of the sustainable consumption of residents in megacities based on ecological security,the criteria for realizing sustainable consumption is clearly defined,the sustainable consumption evaluation theory is enriched,the understanding of sustainability in sustainable consumption is expanded.The results identify the differences in the characteristics of sustainable consumption and trend changes in different types of cities,and quantitatively judge whether urban residents’ consumption achieves sustainable consumption,and provide a theoretical basis for relevant government departments to formulate sustainable consumption policies and regulations based on local conditions. |
