This dissertation studies the effect of market regulation in aircraft and airline industries (second and third chapter) and online credit markets (fourth chapter). The study of market regulation has attracted the attention of economists for a long time. Recent development in the literature on empirical industrial organization has enabled economists to evaluate the cost and benefit of market regulation in various industries. This dissertation contributes to the literature on empirical industrial organization and market regulation. The insight and methodological contribution of this dissertation can be applied to various industries.
