Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of the study is to identify how terrorism affected the investment decisions made by U.S.-based for-profit organizations in Morocco and the Philippines. This is a comparative case study with two participating case subjects. One has an operation in Morocco and the other in the Philippines. The primary research questions are: (a) how did the organization research the terrorist threat before investment; (b) what actions did the organization take in direct response to the terrorist threat; and (c) how did the organization change as a result of the decisions made during investment. Suggestions for additional research include investigation into the government procedure for investment in an emerging economy and the documentation of procedures when investing in emerging economies.
