Implementing a collaborative approach to sermon preparation at First Baptist Church, Perry, Florid

The purpose of this project was to investigate a collaborative approach to sermon preparation for expository preaching. First Baptist Church Perry, Florida was the church context in which this research and project took place. The hope for this project was to evaluate and conclude if a collaborative approach to sermon preparation was beneficial to expository preaching and/or a method to advocate for effectiveness of expository preaching.;Multiple factors have been studied to allow for the following evaluations and conclusions. Pre-project and post-project surveys were recorded. Interviews were conducted with those who participated in this specific project as well as with preachers regarding sermon preparation methods. Books were read and cited to provide support. A collaborative approach to sermon preparation is an area in which more work can be done and more study can exist. This research and project is to lead others to a greater interest of sermon preparation methods and their effectiveness.
