| There is a great requirement for soil erosion control around the campus of Southern University and Agricultural & Mechanical College encompassing Scotlandville, LA. The rippling effect of destruction being caused by soil erosion is putting a damper on the aesthetics this campus clutches on its historical streambank, Scott's Bluff. The transition of Scott's Bluff has been occurring over centuries.;This ecological assessment shall define the techniques needed to manage soil erosion, and clarify the purpose for the need of soil profiling from the eye of an Urban Forester. A thorough display of the effect and transitions of soil erosion impacting the Scott's Bluff for over a half-century has been provided. Soil management is a dynamic process that usually requires a large initial effort followed by smaller sustained efforts to achieve a lasting beneficial result (EPA, 2011). This research displays the effectiveness of vegetative covers, the rate of which erosion is occurring, and a reliable site assessment of the Scott's Bluff. |
