Abstract/Summary:
The pulse combustion process is self-excited by the acoustic combustion inter-coupling as evidence by the larger timewise variation of firing rates. The present acoustic model provides an analytical means to assess the overall performance of the pulse combustion process and to determine combustion parameters and the acoustic structure of the flame. The spectral behavior of flame pulsation, sound pressure level, and overall flow field are presented for selected firing conditions for the plane mode oscillation.
