Abstract/Summary:
The salticid spider genus Habronattus F. O. P. Cambridge is revised. Discussion of the interrelationships of the genera of the Pelleninae Petrunkevitch (sensu Proszynski 1976) is presented, and Habronattus is judged strictly monophyletic and accorded generic rank. Interrelationships among the species are analyzed using phenetic and cladistic techniques, and cladograms for the genus are presented. A total of 95 valid species are recognized, including 29 new species: abditus, alachua, ballatoris, carpus, ciboneyanus, cuspidatus, dossenus, encantadas, geronimoi, gigas, huastecanus, iviei, mataxus, nahuatlanus, nesiotus, notialis, ocala, ophrys, orbus, pochtecanus, pugillis, renidens, sugillatus, tarascanus, tlaxcalanus, velivolus, venatoris, virgulatus, and zapotecanus.
